I may cook and eat Oliver the Parrot for dinner.  He ran out of grapes on Monday.  His favorite thing today has been to stare at the refigerator and squawk "crap crap crap" (his word for grapes).  Then he hollers at me "What you doing?" and if I don't answer, he'll go "What you doing ?  HUH?" and if I DO answer he'll start asking for his craps again.

NO, WE DON'T HAVE ANY CRAPS.  I'm going to offer him a cherry tomato, maybe it will fool him.  If not, Parrot goes lovely with plum sauce, so I hear.

Oh, and the microwave blew up and caught on fire so I assume it's broken.  If I cook the bird, I'll actually have to use the real oven.

That is too funny!!! Oliver sounds like a riot!! My dogs like cherry tomatoes, kind of shocked me, but they do! My husband was eating some yesterday and they wouldn't leave him alone, and he could figure out why!

Ok Deb, deep breaths!  I see you all got hit much harder in OKC than we did in the Northeast part of the state.  I am hoping the weather guy is correct and it will melt off tomorrow and Oliver can get some grapes!!  Maybe if you gave him a glass of wine he would figure out it USED to be grapes!?  Anyway, hang in there and don't cook the bird, he will be tough if you don't marinate just right!

Foruntately for us all, hit attention span is not THAT long.  Now he's amusing himself by singing "Mr. Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiird!!!!!" along with the opera station.  He'll take a word or sound and then combine it-so today's word is Mr. Bird drawn waaaaaay out.  He rarely refers to himself as Oliver any more, now it's Mr. Bird.

I just love your Oliver stories. They are such a riot. Were you able to get out and get some grapes today?

Yes, lucky him.  He's pretty easy to distract (but normally I distract him with craps)  I will freeze some next time so that we have emergency rations.

Deb are you sure the nuker is broke? I mean it could just be kinda fried...as for the bird...I wouldnt cook him not enough meat and then all you would be tasting is the sauce...kinda like a big mac...all sauce and bread

I have some craps if ya want them...that just did not come out right
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

Yep, it caught on fire twice in a row-I'm calling it a goner.
