About beans-you can blend up ANY bean.  You could become like me, a bean gourmet.  Mushed black beans really do taste different than mushed pintos or mushed kidneys, or mushed limas.  Love them limas all smushy with a little dab of butter or olive oil.  Mushed chickpeas is hummus (with a little vinegar and tahini), mushed chickpeas and eggplant and tahini is called baba ganoush.  And when you really want something wicked, mush up a little avacado and mayo-viola, quacamole.  (don't eat a lot, it's still fattening, but it will spruce up some of those mushed up beans).

Hi.
I felt like I had died and gone to heaven the first time I put some Wendy's chili in our blender and ate it (well, a few bites of it). It was hot, wonderful, and filling. I was glad for the Protonix and Gas-X strips, though. Otherwise, I think it would have bothered my tummy a bit.
I enjoyed tuna salad, but, actually, I think that might have been after the mushie stage. Just check your list. Variety is definitely the spice of mushie life!
Blessings,
Mary

True confession-I still enjoy chicken and tuna salad run through the chopper-it just tastes more BLENDED that way.

I had the best luck with refried beans and cottage cheese.  I then progressed to dark meat chicken and other cheese. Eggs sucked anyway I cooked them. I'm now 9 months out and I can only eat poached eggs comfortably.  I honestly did not enjoy eating at first. I had to make myself eat. It's much better now, I can eat almost anything (approved food of course) except if it's really spicy.

8 pounds to my goal!

I  think at  mushies we're allowed canned tuna or chicken with mayo -- that to me was heaven.  Along with cheese melted in a non-stick pan and then the oil patted off with a paper towel.  That actually was like a chip for the FF pinto beans.  Only could eat one or two, but it was definitely something different.  Be inventive !  Think outside the box for the sake of diversity !

I loved my magic bullet and was given no restrictions on my mushie stage except healthy and no chewing required. i got to start mushies on Thanksgiving Day. SO i had some ham pureed, green bean cassarole purreed and baked beans pureed. I was never a bean eater but let me tell you they are now my friend in any and every version. YUMMY!

Jermony, I did eat chicken and tuna salad in the mushie stage.  I just used my food processor and chopped it up good.  It was a good food for me and my pouch tolerated it well.  It had a good taste and worked better than eggs did at the point.  I still can hardly eat an entire egg.  I also enjoy a deviled egg better than the other ways.  Just remember...you won't be able to eat very much at all before you get a signal from your tummy...to stop it!  If you feel any discomfort WHATSOEVER....stop eating.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!
