I am so hungry!!!!
I think most of what you are experiencing is "head hunger". If you do feel weak then at that point I was advised to drink some protein shake or drink. They did not advise me to drink them on a regular basis during my 2 weeks of liquids....only when I felt weak. You might give that a try if you haven't already. It did help me a lot. I really didn't use many of them at all during that 2 week period though but everyone is different. Hang in there...you'll be on mushies before you know it!!!
If you haven't already you might also experience "buyer's remorse". I did and thought what in the heck have I done to myself!! It passed and I am so glad I did what I did. It has been the best decision for me.

Jeremy,
I felt exactly the same way. I couldn't believe that I thought I was hungry. I felt kinda sad, like I was the only one in the world that could have their stomach removed and still wanna eat!
The first week is the hardest. It did get easier in week 2 because I think my tummy gave up. And it's hard to tell if you're hungry or have some other issue going on because nothing is normal anymore.
If you have no energy, it's time for a protein shake. Because for now, how your body says it's hungry is the tired, weak feeling. I made it a week before I had to have a protein shake. I felt horrible and thought, OMG, what have I done to myself. I went to GNC and got a protein bullet and mixed it with crystal light. I felt better almost immediately!
No 2 ways about it, the liquid stage sucks. But right now, think of it as the time where you need to protect your tender tummy and it's staple line and the surgeon's hard work. I promise, promise, promise that life gets immensely better when you get to start on mushies. That was the first time I could tell I had actually had the surgery because with liquids, I never felt full.
Hang in there! You'll love your new tummy - just not right now!

Jeremy,
I know exactly what you are going through. I had to go through Christmas Day at my sister's house being two days out of surgery and could only have liquids. I thought I was going to go crazy that day. It is hard, but so worth it in the end. Try a protein drink, or maybe some soup broth. The soup broth kept me sane, moreso than the protein drinks. I found that the sweetness of the protein drinks didn't set well with me, and they still don't.
Good luck, it will be worth it! I promise!!
Hugs,
Marsha
