It has been almost 3 weeks since i had the gastric sleeve and i have only lost 12 pounds.   I feel like i should be loosing more weight.  Does anyone know how long it takes before you really start seeing results?

I can't remember how much at 3 weeks but I can say that in the first 2 weeks, I lost 11 pounds but thought I should have lost more.  Be patient and I promise the weight will come off.  Right now, your body is in shock!

And, for me, the best part of this is that I'm still losing.  I'm 8 months out today!   (Yay for me!)  The juicy part is that before surgery, I would've already quit "dieting" and gained back part or all of what I had lost.  That is NOT happening now and won't happen to me!  That is the most amazing feeling!

Don't lose sight of the big picture!  We didn't get obese in 5 weeks and we won't lose it all in a short amount of time so just enjoy the process, if you can.

Uh, sorry, 4 pounds a week is a pretty good rate.  The sleeve and the band are not malabsorptive, and typically have a slower loss rate than RNY.  As far as "seeing" it, most people say that around the 50 pound mark people really begin to notice.

My focus has always been making sustainable weight loss-making only those changes I feel that I can sustain.  I'm never going to be fat again.

Ok something they dont always tell you either is that quite often people gain while in the hospital from all the fluids they pump through your veins. Dont worry it will start coming off. remember we didn't put this weight on over night and it will not come off all at once no matter how badly I oops we want it to.  Look at it this way you are losing over half a pound a day right now and that will ramp up. Try to get as much protien and water in as you can. Take care and hugs.

The higher your beginning weight the more you will lose. And if you are a male your weight loss will be faster...
At three weeks you are more than likely losing fluids that were given to you at the hospital. Try to get your protein and water in...and just relax..your weight will start to come off before you know it. And it takes the body time to get over the shock of surgery....
Good luck to ya
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

no worries my friend - the great thing about this tool is that it will happen!!!  Those with less to lose like YOU! tend to lose it a bit slower in the beginning then it picks up.

You cannot fail - this tool will work!
