My wedding ring fell off!...

Thank goodness I was at home & felt it happen, but my wedding ring slipped right off my finger.  Actually, it went flying across the room.

Now I'm nervous to wear it when I go out because what if it falls off again and I don't notice right away?!  Did you get your rings re-sized and when did you do it?  Do I have to wait until I reach goal?  Don't want to go months without my wedding ring, but also don't want to spend the money re-sizing more than once.  Ugh!

Looking on the bright side......at least I no longer have Man-Hands (Seinfeld)!

That is a really cool thing.

I would wait to have it resized until you reach your goal, then you only have to have it done once.

Do you have a smaller ring  you could wear in its place?  Or buy a ring guard thing to put around the underside of the band to make it smaller?

I'm glad you were at home and didn't loose it.  Maybe you can find some kind of resizer to put under it.  I finally had my rings re-sized at Christmas.  I didn't go to do that though until after I lost 167 pounds.  I got tired of going without them.  I now wear a smaller ring than my daughter.  My husband surprised me though when we were at the jewler and bought me a new wedding ring that I wear with my original white gold band.  I love it!  The jewler at Gordon's sent me to their re-pair guy so that I didn't have to leave it or have it sent off and had it done within the hour.  I wouldn't resize for a while though if I were you!   But, you probably don't have to loose a really large horse like I did either.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

I have this same problem!  I have ordered some stuff that Nancy Gene told me about.  It's some kind of plastic type stuff that you squirt out of a tube on the inside of the band and it makes your ring fit tighter.  You can swim and wash dishes with it on and when you don't want it any more, you can peel it off!  I'll see if I can find the link and give it to you.  I haven't received it yet but I'm looking forward to getting it!

Oh, and the more times you size a ring the more you damage the integrity of the gold - or so I've been told.  So you don't want to resize a bunch of times!

MINE HAS NOT FALLEN OFF YET BUT I CAN TWIRL IT AROUND ON MY FINGER. THE COOL THING IS THAT I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO WEAR IT IN YEARS BEFORE I HAD SURGERY AND NOW I DON'T TAKE IT OFF. I REALIZE HOW MUCH I MISSED WEARING IT!!

My wedding band has been lose for months, but since I wanted to wait to get it sized, I started wearing it on my middle finger - now, that is getting lose as well, and I think it's time to get my two rings that I wear all the time sized...Kind of getting tired of wearing it on the wrong finger.

Maybe you can get hubby to buy you a plain gold band to wear while you get to goal.  I wouldn't have them sized but once.  It is hard on the integrity of the setting holding the stones in to do multiple sizings.  And, congrats!
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

Yep, wait, but don't wear it without doing something.

Sad story:  I lost my beautiful birthstone ring in an airport toilet on the way to Vegas-I KNEW that ring was too loose, and I wanted to wear it anyway......it's an awful feeling to look down and have it not be there.

Teri,

I had the same problem - I had moved my wedding band to my middle finger some time ago, but recently it became so large there that it was catching on things when I would lift or move them, so I decided it was time for action.  As has been mentioned, I didn't want to have my ring (a size 14) re-sized more than once - so I packed it away in it's original box, and went out to James Avery and picked up a new sterling silver band to wear for a while until I think my hands have stopped shrinking.  It's not the same as my original, but it's still on my hand, and I do like it.  The one I picked is a wide band in sterling silver with a scripture (Ruth 1:16 - wherever thou goest...) written in Hebrew.  It was about $75.

Just a thought - you might want to consider something temporary as opposed to taking a chance on losing your ring or having it re-sized multiple times.
