Do be careful out there-I didn't make it to the end of my sidewalk without slipping three times, so I turned around and went back in.  Of course, I didn't stay in-I had to go brea**** on the water bowls and toss the tug toys for the dogs-in the grassy areas it's just mildly slick, on dirt or pavement, it's already snot slick.  Frozen hard.  I'm going to dig out those spike booties I bought.

OMG!!!! this all I can say at the moment. My job closed our company at 230pm today. I am thinking ok..that is goodWOOOHOOO...go get my kids from two different spots, pick my mom up from work(who rode with me this am), I can drop her off and get home at least by 4 ...uh NO! Took every bit of 30 mns to get my kids from school....then after picking up my mother from work took another hour to get her home and then another 30mns to get home. I was sooo not happy traffic was bumper to bumper to some one elses bumper, so needless to say, I was not a happy camper today. I am glad to have gotten off when i did, because if we waited til 5, there is no tellin what time I would have gotten home. Oh my, its slick out..especially in front of my house....yikes. ok..I am done with my rant....

Hey girls!  This is how bad it is up there...we left Edmond at 11:30 a.m., it was after 2:30 when we finally got through Norman.  It took us 5 1/2 hours to get home.  I was so scared that we weren't going to make it, but my sister is a good driver.  We ran out of the ice by the time we got to Purcell, but three hours for a 45 minute trip was bad enough!

You guys be careful out there!  It's not pretty!

Hugs,
Marsha

stupid me decided to go onto northwest expressway to buy 4 less....I can drive in snow, ice, fog and by golly a hurricane..but folks who do not how to drive in it need to stay off the roads!  I had people hitting brakes cause they were slidding to steering into the bridge....I got into the parking lot slide walking into the store thinking to myself..stupid stupid stupid and did I say stupid...took em 30 minutes to drive back...
My question is this ..did Oklahoma's drivers education courses not teach the kids to not break when the slide on ice? Gee maybe North Carolina lacked in getting us not to say aint but DE did teach us not to hit the brakes....
Jazzy I feel for ya...

I just came in from comforting my neighbor...it seems she fell down the driveway and the fire dept and ambulance were over there....They took her in to check her hip....I thought they were going to have to take the Firemen too they way they were slidding!
Pati, I agree.....I grew up all over...being a military brat...we did that, but I learned defensive driving and though I never learned how to drive on ice in the schools....my mom taught us. We lived in Colorado for years and I listened to her explain what to do....we also lived in Newfoundland but that was mainly snow. When I drive on ice it seems I am mainly watching out for everyone else!

Is that DE as in Dept of Education or DE as in Delawhere?

I freely admit I am a chicken on this stuff. I was coming home today and in the middle of 59th for no apparent reason I started fish tailing and to avoid causing a wreck I ended up in the other lane facing teh way I came so I decidedc it was time to get kids (I called the families of my extras and told them I am bringing them home) and i have no plans to move tomorrow either.

I quite honestly dont think I am going into work tomorrow....that is crap out there and I will not let someone that doesnt know how to drive on this stuff hit me....its not me I am worried about when driving, its others that race and speed on this stuff thinkin that they are invincible. Kids are out tomorrow, so I just might be too....aaaaaahhhhhhh
