After surgery, has anyone else had a noticeable difference in their ability to open jars and bottles? I used to be the one everyone asked to do this wonderful chore, now I can't even open a bottle of V8 by myself...I'm sure if it's me or if they are putting the lids on tighter these days...hmmm

Maybe its because you don't have the extra weight working as leverage! LOL!

Give the lid a gentle tap on concrete to break the seal....it works everytime. Just be careful and don't break the jar!!

I just wack the jar lid with a knife-but I haven't noticed any weakness.  If anything, I'm stronger.

Whack the bottom of the jar with the heal of your hand it you'll hear a funky little sound and then you can open it with no problem!

I grab a rubber glove (when I am home ovbiously) to open any jar or bottle.  Since I have arthritis I have weakened hand strength and have for many years.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
