I'm a little Country too

I didn't get a new hat, but I did buy a nice Billy Cook Saddle. I still enjoy my English riding lessons, but realistically, I'm not every going to leave the arena on that saddle (English) because there are cir****tances where you might need to get OFF the horse where there isn't a stump or a fence to use to get back on. While I did learn to let the stirrup down, climb on the horse, and fix the stirrup back (while sitting in the saddle) that really isn't something I see myself doing out somewhere by myself.
So, I'm one step closer to that horse-camping dream.
(And ladies, if you buy a higher cantle, your butt looks smaller from behind. My teacher is pretty straightforward, and she walked behind me in the store and announced "OH, that makes your butt look really small......) so of course I bought it.
The English saddles really aren't the most practical for camping and long distance riding, but then again that's really not what they are made for lol.

LOL one of my favorite horses of all time used to try that move. She was a little stinker that one. The Draper horses might try to head back to the stable, but it's usually a halfhearted effort and anyone can turn them around if they will. They're not really big on going fast, but I don't blame them.
Right now he's charging 20 bucks for two hours-in my opinion two hours is a loooooong time for a first ride. When we get a date, I will call ahead if you like and see if I can wrangle us an hour long ride and pick out the horses for us.
