I have found a way to make my life easier!!

Since my toilet really doesn't work very well and clogs at least 4 times a week, and my shoulders are bulking up from using the plunger, I got tired of it today and googled how to unclog a toilet fast. Are you ready for this?

Dish Soap! That's right, good old Dawn. Just pour a few good squirts into the bowl, wait for the water to go down, then flush and repeat. In about 10 minutes you will hear things start to move around and work again...

I kid you now, I worked on a clog today for about 3 hours, and 10 minutes after pouring Dawn into the bowl, the clog was no more.

Disclaimer: This helpful hint does not work with anything that is not made in the human body or toilet paper. Little ones throwing toys into the toilet will still require a plumber...Sorry.

Hmmmm, who woulda thunk it. I like these "homemade" solutions -- saves from using the harsh chemicals. Wonder if this would work for like a clogged sink or shower drain?

Now....about that sink or shower.....Living alone and not being able to hire things done, I tried a solution to those that worked like a charm! I poured straight bleach down my sink and low and behold....The drain cleared right up after about 10 min.  It does wonders in the shower too! It is worth a try before having to call a plumber.  I used the gel kind of clorox so maybe it was able to stick to the sides of all the gunk and dissolve it.

Before I found the fancy plastic hair trap at Petsmart I got a miniature strainer at Target for like a dollar and shoved it into shape in my shower drain-saves me a lot of grief.  (I got another one too and made myself a 5.00 "tea strainer" too-and I can't tell the difference between the "real" tea strainer and my home made one).

I pour straight bleach down all my drains pretty often usually at least once a week, also there is a product you can get at Dollar General ( I think Family Dollar too) called Mean Green it is a degreaser and let me tell you it works so well my dad uses it in his shop to degrease everything. Its much easier on things than the gas he used to clean all his tools with. Also for all those that smoked before surgery Mean Green does wonders on nicotine stains on walls and such.
