You know how you get down to the bottom of the jar and there is still all that pb left that you can't really get to but hate to throw away?  Throw some dog kibble in the jar, and some water, nuke for a few seconds then shake it all up.  Pour THAT on some more dog kibble (especially if there was a lot in the jar).  Your poochies will love love love you.

In my next life, if I'm really, really good in this life, I'm gonna come back as one of your critters!

Another idea is to heat it pour it over pine cones that have a string attached and roll in bird seed to hang from trees or even fences....Birdys will love you too! It also adds oils for their feathers.

I roll peanut butter balls in bird seed for the kiddos (birdies).  My Mom is in charge of the wild birds since my dogs do not allow them in the backyard-it's just something she recently started doing.

Today MY birds got a little piece of honeycomb in their morning ration and the dogs and the cat got rosemary sprinkled on their stuff.  I try to enrich diets with mostly natural things and not a lot of flour.  I need to remember the herb thing more often in the winter-I'm sure they get to hankering for greens too.

I treat my animals like my own private zoo-I enjoy messing with habitat and food-and they just reap the benefits.  My Mom gets a sense of pride in her clean house and I get the same sense in a good slick coat or shiny feathers.

As you know I have ****ers and my kids get these backpacks sent home from school on Fridays that have these jars of peanut butter that are only like 4 inches tall well when they finish one the dogs love to take them and *clean* then out with their tongues it takes them awhile and makes them use their heads like a Kong Toy with a treat inside.  Also I have discovered that my dogs are so jealous of any animal getting a bite that they don't that I can get them to eat most anything. I now have to watch the kale and Romaine I cut up daily for my guinea pigs as they will steal it and whatever other veggie or fruit I use to go with if they get half a chance.

I wish those individual peanut butter packs were so dang expensive-honestly, the one size has 2 servings and no lid and I don't eat 400 calories of peanut butter at a time, so I have to throw half of it away if I'm out and about.  I found some the other day with single servings, but I just could bring myself to pay 10 dollars for 10 spoonfulls of peanut butter.

Does any body know how long peanut butter would keep if you just smushed some in a snack size ziplock and left it?  If I am really busy and need to eat, peanut butter would sometimes work better than nuts (less likely to get hung) but the portable part is tough.  I guess I could just keep a jar of peanut butter and a spoon in the truck, but that seems a little weird even to me.

Deb, I dont see why they wouldn't keep as well in the snack bags as it would in a jar as long as it was sealed well. I wouldn't want to do up a bunch and leave in the truck but a few at a time should work out fine. I am with you on the single serving size. Smuckers makes a tablespoon size one lfor resturants like teh jelly deals I wonder if you could find them somewhere ? I will have to put on my researchers hat after I get back from the flea market. I am going with a friend to walk around for awhile.
