NEED HELP WITH MY AVATAR PLEASE!!!!

I'M TRYING TO ADD MY PICTURE TO THE AVATAR, I KNOW THAT THE PIXEL HAS TO BE 100 X 100. HOW DO GET A PICTURE THAT HAS 20K BYTES? I TRIED TO REDUCE THE SIZE ON MY COMPUTER BUT IT GOES BACK TO THE ORIGINAL SIZE AND IT WON'T WORK. HELP PLEASE SOMEONE!!! THANKS................
