Need Help
Ok I have not chimed in for a long time but I do come and read when I can. I have been at a stall for almost a month now and I am getting very discouraged!!!! Can anyone chime in and give me some ideas on what to do. I keep thinking I should start the liquid diet over again then I dont have the will power to do it. So please help.
Thanks so much,
Heather

Heather, I don't claim to know anything after surgery because I am still preop. I do know that following the Nutritionists diet would not move the scales for me. I continued it though and added one extra protein drink that was high in protein(26 grams) per 8 oz and low in carbs (2). and the scales consistently dropped. I used Braums fat free milk so that was another 13 grams of protein making that one drink 39 grams of protein. For some reason, though I was doing all the nut said...I just needed an extra amount of protein to get things going. I have no idea if it will work for you, but it did for me and I have met my weight loss requirement to have the surgery because of just that one thing....I think that was what caused it...
I have read here also that some broke stalls by just adding a bit more protein, so maybe that is all you need? Maybe you should call your nutritionist first though to be sure they don't have anything else to offer to help.

Well, welcome to my world.... We discussed this very thing last night at our support meeting. We all pretty much agreed that increasing exercise, increasing our intake of protein and making SURE we are getting in all the water we need should help. I know when I have been in a stall increasing the protein and changing up what I'm eating has helped. I am really bad about getting in a rut and basically having the same things over and over...especially for breakfast and lunch. It's just easy to grab and run. They are good things but I think our bodies need change. You might give that a try. I know it will cut loose soon....I really don't think the liquid diet is the answer although you might add a protein drink or bar in here and there occasionally.
intervention time...
heather I want you to increase your protein and water intake....then change the way you exercise..meaning if you walk then do something else switch to something else for awhile...
I have done a carb day where I ate good carbs and that shocked the system..could not really recommend that cause of dumping and the side effects....I do add more protein and water i and that helps.
Good luck to ya and just know this to shall pass

Are you getting in any exercise? That can shake things loose again (in a good way).
Are there any areas of your program that you've maybe gotten a bit lax on? That's always a good place to tigthen up if you're stalled.
If you are exercising and doing mostly weights, switch to cardio or vice versa. Sometimes just the change itself is enough.
My weight loss has stalled too. It looked like I lost weight one week and then the next week it was back on. Then the scales quit moving. I decided I needed to stop weighing because it was messing with my head. I joined the gym and am hoping that the increased activity will get the weight loss going again.
