Jen, my advice to you is simple..get a full length mirror hang it up somewhere you can view yourself....take before pics of you and then take them often.Dont let the weight loss become a chore ..ENJOY IT AND EMBRACE IT. Dont let others take that JOY away. Dont listen to nay sayers or those who"think" they know that losing weight the natural way is best....
Each wow moment write it down journal all your emotions even if you have to do this at one of the kids ball games..take little moments out of your day for you..just to say I can do this ....
Go to support group meetings attend them regularly..
As for the candy and emotional eating....we did not get to be obesed, morbid obesed, or super morbid obesed, or what ever comes after that cause we didnt eat....thats why food journaling before surgery is so helpful...and why you need to do that after surgery...
and finally dont let the scales control you after surgery....
hugs to ya and btw I still eat candy occasionaly only difference is now when I do it..I get real sick real fast..so I dont do it alot..just once in awhile being sick for 3 hours is not worth that few minutes of awwhhh
