OT- My baby has RSV

okay okay so he's not exactly a baby...he's 3 1/2 so the DR. said that it's not as big a deal as it would be if he were tiny. But I hate it! He's coughing and his nose is runny, his eyes water, and he's running fever. And I'm stuck at work while my mom takes care of him. He cried and begged me not to leave him "I need woo mommy"  That NEVER happens...he and my mom are super close and usually he prefers her. It's days like this that make me HATE my ex-husband for walking out and leaving us, causing me to have to work twice as hard to make a living. That jerk dosn't even pay child support. UGH!  I could go on, but I'll just get steamed...thanks for letting me rant!

I am so sorry to hear about  your little one.  I know that RSV can be so serious but at least he isn't an infant.  I think it can be fatal for babies.  You know that your Mom is taking extra special care of him while you are at work and will call you if anything changes.  At least you aren't dependant on a day care center because they wouldn't even care for him if he were ill.  You know, things happen for a reason and your ex is the one who is missing out on a special lady and a son that will learn on his own all too soon what a man his dad wasn't...sperm donors are a dime a dozen!!!  Take care of him as well as yourself and I'll be praying for you both!!!

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Hey girl, I totally sympathize with you....  My daughter (who is now 3) had RSV when she was just barely over a year old.  It was scary having to give her those breathing treatments, and that fever she had.  And my ex was NO help either!  I had to actually take time off work to be home with her.  I'm sorry you're not able to and he wants you there...  I know that tugs at your heart.  I send lots of healing vibes to him.  And *hugs* to you to be strong.

Prayers going up for you and your son as you fight off the virus.  My little one had RSV twice - at 1 and again just before he turned 2.  He had even taken the shots for it, and still ended up with it both times.

Hang in there - it's no fun, but he'll make it through in a few days.

As for the ex - no real advice here except to say that all men aren't bad - some day you'll find just the right one who will be there for you and your little one.

Best wishes!

I am sorry to here your little man is sick. When my 3 year old was 2 she got RSV. Now this is the child that had never been to the doctor for anything but a well visit. I was a little freaked out just because it was the first time she had ever been sick and the horror story that I had heard about RSV. But like you I was fortunate that she was older when she ogt it and she turned out all right. As for feeling bad for leaving him....that just means u are a great mom. The little ones know how to tug on our heartstrings but u know he is in good hands. I also feel your pain on the child support issue. My sons father hasnt ever paid child support and my son will be 11 in March....I jus pray that one day he will hit the lottery because he will owe most of it to me...lol

Keep your chin up....everything will be just fine!

Your son will grow up and respect you even more for being the wonderful parent that you are and he will see what his dad did and didnt do. God will reward you for being the good parent!  I know easier said then done, you and your son are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope that he gets better soon!  hugs to you both!
