Not a happy camper....

Well I am 6 weeks post op now. I went today for my first fill and found out that my incision site where the port is is not completely healed and he was afraid of causing an infection. Although I have lost 34lbs in 6 weeks is pretty good I couldn't help but be bummed.
The last few weeks have been hard because the hunger is back with a vengeance. I will just keep my head up, keep my protein high and hope when I go back in 2 weeks all is good.

Girl-you are doing well-34 pounds in 6 weeks is great.  Don't forget to enjoy your successes along the way as you get to goal.

I didn't get my first fill for 8-10 weeks, and at the point I had lost 22 pounds.  Those "little losses" add up-I'm down 105. 

I am not familar with lab band like i am RNY but i wish you the best and will add you to my prayer list.

Hang in there, your doing GREAT.. Don't get discouraged... Wishing you all the best..

Karen,  I have a method that helped me with my head hunger and it seemed to kill it but it was frustrating to say the least but I think the frustration was part of the cure.  If you want to know more, let me know....I'm happy to let you know what worked for me.  A few others have tried it and feel as though it's worked for them....pm me and I'll get to it tonight after work....

I too have the lap band and Dr. Tim Eldridge is nice doctor.  I had my lap band surgery in April 08.  Lost 16 lbs then gained back 13 lbs.  Just don't think it was enough for me.  I have diabetes, high blood pressure and am always hungry. 

I'm getting a revision done not a lap band but a RNY Laproscopic Gastric Bypass my surgeon is Dr. Luis Gorospe in Tulsa, Ok.  Hope the lap band works for you. 

I just did not have the will power and like Dr. Tim's nurse said for me to change my mind set, believe me it's hard to when your stomach is always growling.  Hope I did'nt discourage you.  Just thought you might want to know.   

Im not discouraged at all. I have met many of his patients and all have had nothing but great things to say about him and the surgery.
Maybe you were not ready. It is a life choice. I am sure I will have many hungry days to come but my mind is set on getting healthy and feeling good about myself.
