Thanks everyone for chiming in....  It's already been a day,, my little girl gets so sick so easy and I was concerned she had pnumonia (sp) again.. Anyway, ran her to the doctor and put her on breathing treatments,  we are treating this as Asthma right now.. Also has a viral rash going on.. Poor little thing, she gets sick so much and so easy and little man just hangs out having fun...

Anyway,  Dr B called me back this afternoon.. Strictures are very rare in sleeve patients but they do happen, mostly in RNY patients.. But he's not saying they don't happen in sleeves.. Anyway, right now I am going back to liquid 5-7 days, than reintroduce soft foods, than after that reintroduce protein.. So I am back at it.. It's okay.. I have to admit I am a bit discouraged but know this will be so worth the new me / new year mentatility...

So that's what is going on with me.. Thanks everyone for chiming in, and especially Ruth for sharing all of your knowledge..

I think all our new fangled tummies benefit to a return to liquids after a puke.  The smaller area that it has to come out of is (it seems to me) very prone to swelling from pressure and stomach acid.  Be sure to space out your protein drinks so you don't get too hungry and you'll be fine and will likely drop a quick 5 or so......so it's not ALL bad.

Sheila, I know i seems rough to go all the way back to the liquid stage, but I can tell you that for me it was worth it about thetime I started the solids I caught the tummy bug and Since they werent positve if it was the introduction of solids or te actual bug or a combo they placed me back at the beginning and when I worked bak through there I felt so much better and have only had issues with chicken since getting back on to solids. I hope that it all works out for the best for you.

Ruth!!!  You just keep bringing me something to worry about!  SIX!!!  Oh my goodness!  That poor person.  Dr. W. actually told me that it might be necessary to go back in because they were hesitant to stretch my stricture as much as they normally do because I was still recovering and healing.  I never have been a smoker, so I wonder why some people get scar tissue and some don't.  Leave it to me, I'm going to get whatever they have!  LOL

Still wouldn't go back, but I sure don't like throwing up.  I had to get up and leave an IEP meeting today to throw up.  Not sure if it was what I ate, or I was a little nervous about this meeting and it just didn't go down.  Pretty embarrassing to have to get up and run with the principal and several co-workers AND the parents sitting there.

Hugs,
Marsha
