It's a waste for me to go out and eat..

Sometimes I'll take home the leftovers, but if I'm not coming straight home....then yes it does feel wasteful.  However, I enjoy the experience of eating out in restaurants.  Hmmm, come to think of it - that is probably part of what caused me to need WLS in the first place.

I haven't been able to bring myself to order off the kid's menu.  I have an 8 year old son, so I'm familiar with the choices on most of those menus & it's not what I should be having anyway.  We have a joke in our family - the 8 year old always has a strong opinion about which restaurant we choose, but he gets chicken strips everywhere we go!  We ask him, "Which restaurant do you want your chicken strips from today?"  ;-)

One good thing I'm noticing about fast food restaurants is the resurgence of "The Dollar Menu".  This works out pretty well for me because I can eat most of the smaller serving size and I didn't feel like I was wasting money throwing out 80% of my meal.

i have gotten my family used to sharing with me. if they eat something i don't like or just don't feel like eating i will order my own. at barbeque places i usually just order a rib and that fills me up. yes i eat a lot of leftovers but i am trying to cut down on our eating out and have started cooking a lot of different menu items and making my family try them. so far so good. they have liked everything i have fixed.

I use it for lunch at work the next day. I don't mind eating multiples, and it makes it easier to get out the door in the morning if something is already packed and waiting on me to take it. Any excess goes into the fridge at work for the next day's meal.

My husband and I go out to eat almost every saturday, we usually go just to have something different than what we normally fix at home. I have never really thought of me eating smaller portions as wasteful, the amount I can eat is what satisfies me, regardless of what I paid, especially at buffets...after all, when I could eat three plates of food, they didn't charge me more....but, I don't do buffets much, quality is more important that quantity at this point. We usually don't share a meal because I am picky and want what I want, but, I don't mind taking home left-over and eating them the next day. If not, my husband will eat it the next day!
