Glass of wine??
I drink a nice glass of wine when I want one and i haven't had any bad effects. I've drank more than i should have more than one time. I think it's only human to enjoy what you want. I hope you have fun with the girls. I'm in Florida for the weekend and some of my office girls are with me at a seminar, so I'm going to try to get the office to pay for some drinks and dinner tonight.

I have never been a big drinker so this hasn't been a big deal for me but I do know that I you can go out with the girls and still have fun without drinking. i did it before and I have done it since my surgery. See the deal is everyone else will be drinking so you can be as goffy or fun as you want and they will no notice you aren't drinking. Relax and let the beautiful loving fun you come out. And that way there is also a safe driver home.

I guess I was about 6 weeks out when I had a small glass of wine. It really gets to me-I wouldn't advise driving until you know how it's going to affect you. I still won't drink even a glass if I'm going to be driving-it just isn't worth the risk.
I did take a sip of beer-won't ever take another. Carbonation is a bad thing.
One thing I would like to point out is that drinking or not drinking is always a choice we make-you don't have to say you can't because you had WLS, you could just say you don't want to.
This was a bit of an issue during the holidays. I was about six months out before I even took a sip of wine and like everyone else has said it had a quicker and stronger effect than before WLS. For the most part I drink water or ice tea when we go out or take a couple sips of my husbands wine. He loves having me be the designated driver.
