Here's the dish.... I'm skinny...for real and stuff

Heya peeps,

A number of you have emailed me to let me know I am skinny.  I agree...however, I've finally hit my low weight and have officially stopped losing.  I did get 2 emails saying that they were worried and stuff and I'd like to chat amongst my friends to talk about how I came to be in my really skinny mode.

First and foremost, I don't like being this skinny.  Secondly, i use my tool (my wls tummy), as a weapon against being fat.... however this is NOT a commercial for eating like I eat.  i'm highly disciplined when I want to be, but am i really?  I am and always have been a person who could change how I ate when i felt the need (like my pants were too tight, or I looked terrible, or I couldn't pick up a chick I lusted for....) you get the picture....  however as many of you who know me, I had a weakness...food...  some of you may recognize that obsession too

I get a ton of people who want the infamous low carb diet that sets me in mode...but I'll be the first to tell you that 10% of the people actually follow it....  but that "mode" that I'm talking about is hardened ketosis.  i can now eat carbs and still burn the fat.  It took me time to get into it and too many bad things will take you out.  Let's talk about some of the bad things I eat....  (By the way, I define bad things as bad for most WLS peeps should not eat)....I eat brownie type things....  i eat wonderful caribbean milkshakes, fried chicken, pasta, I do eat pizza, and there's always a french fry that I might look at and say yes...i shall eat you today....

BUT wait...  that "brownie" i eat....  is it really a brownie?  Nope...  it is a tastykake (I didn't name it, so that's the real name for it.)  Well tell me about it T....ok...here goes.... this thing KILLS CRAVINGS...  what kind?  CHOCOLATE...SWEET....BREAD.....SEX...ok, ok not SEX...darnit...but everything else but sex it kills the craving.....(3-4 NET grams of carbs...can't eat it until you're in ketosis to really burn fat)

The Milkshake I drink....is it really a milkshake?  Kinda.sorta....  it has Nectar Caribbean Cooler zero carb, low calorie, tons of protein, coconut fiber, tons of water which you must do anyway, but i can make icecream outta this stuff that tastes better than what I remember icecream tasting...there's about 4 different things I use this stuff to mke that is awesome to the tastebuds and keeps the fat away...  This KILLS the cravings for a real milkshake, icecream, sweets, sex, fiber, and a good protein boost.... alright...not sex, but the other stuff, yes...

Fried Chicken... umm is he serious?  is'nt that high in fat?   The answer to both of those questions is YES....i eat it...i fry my chiken in cocnut flour and coat it in egg and then flax meal for the cruchiest zero carb chicken that I know.... (I add spices too....so it's just like the colonels only good for you).   Fat?  i don't care about fat...  i care bout carbs....  this KILLS CRAVINGS for fried foods, crunchy stuff, um greasy comfort foods and sex..... ok, I lied, it doesn't kill the cravings for sex, but you get the point...  i have recipes....

Pasta....yep all the time....can't eat it and do good if you're not in ketosis....i eat low carb dreamfields....  linguini, rigatoni, spirals, lasagna....with a beautiful near zero carb alfredo cream sauce....  KILLS the cravings for pasta.... (isn't that enough)????

Pizza....I eat the real stuff.... i cannot lie...  it kills the cravings for real pizza...  sorry, but turthfulness counts here and my doc said I can have carbs even though he knows I don't have many....  nope...not a thing for sex....

French Fry....Yep  i'll eat about 3 per month....not many, but still, i must have a little bit of my "anti-establishment" still in me.....I feel better once I've eaten one or two...  but I don't lust for them often....

Other than this, i always start my day with the real deal...  flax-z-snax.... strawberries and cream....  why?  becasue it tastes like oatmeal with fruit and it's sweet...and it's got OTNS of fiber and I add more coconut fiber because I'm not gonna kill myself by not feeling good and stuff.

I eat low carb gourmet and don't miss much becasue of the treats I listed above....do i sneak a bite of crepes with orange marmalade with hazelnut cream?  Yes...is it low carb?  Yes because I've worked hard to learn to make them...

So i was way fat before.  i'm so lucky that I use my tool effectively but it's also about using some judgement out there.  Carbs must exist in our diet.  I sneak a ton of carbs I don't even tell you about becasue I cook for high end peoplewho enjoy them and I must taste it before it goes out...but i live my life in a low carb lifestyle only when i choose to.....which is what 95% of those wls docs tell you that you must adhere to....but hey  i'm a human...I cheat...i have cravings....i feed my cravings....how about you?  this works for me and a lo of others have chosen to look at it and evaluate it for themselves....I've never seen it not work for someone who was committed...  most of you saw me before wls....that person is not reconizabe in me anymore....AT ALL...my motherdidn't recognize the new me a month ago when I passed her in the airport....I did it as an experiment...amazing results...

I follow the 10 percent rule-90% well behaved, 10% off the wall and it works for me.  I'm down 105 pounds today.

I'm not anti carb, but am very anti white sugar.  An apple never sent me on a weeklong binge, but a piece of cake might.  I'm going to eat all the carrots I want, but monitor cookies very closely.

If I do choose to eat something wicked, I eat protein first, then my guilty treat-with no guilt.  I've already limited the amount by putting something in my tummy first, and I've also limited the sugar dump by making that something protein-so even my 10 percent has a little strategy behind it.

See thats the way....everyone i know cheats...but she's got a method...and it's those methods that help the tool win the fight!  105 pounds!  CONGRATS DEB!!!!  SO proud of you!

But you make an intelligent argument so who am I to disagree?  Just be happy, healthy and hormone-driven and we'll still love you!

I don't care what the packaging is, I just want you to be happy and healthy! 

I am way not disciplined enough to live your dietary lifestyle.  I subscribe more to Deb's plan- 90% good and 10% not so good.  But, now my not so good means I have a few bites of something decadent instead of tons of bad stuff.

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I think you look great.

I am having trouble sticking to any set rule.  I have the lapband and haven't had my first fill and the swelling is gone down and I can eat, still not as much, but I can eat more then I should.

You have done a great job and are a true inspiration.

Don't despair!  It too****il December for me to have restriction, but I lost 4 lbs over Christmas and 7 more since then, without feeling hungry.  You are doing great!

My three things I eat that I shouldnt are pasta, Baked Cheetos, and 100% whole wheat THIN sliced bread.  I toast it though so its not as spongy.  And as for my pasta I eat the Ronzoni Smart Taste pasta.  it is high in fiber and yeah it has 43 carbs per serving but I dont eat it all the time.  Maybe once every other week or so.  The bread i buy is Orowheat which is high in fiber and very thin sliced.  I toast it and put some roast beef, tomato slices, and pepper jack cheese on it with some mustard instead of mayo.  Makes a great sandwich and I normally can only eat half a sandwich anyways.  The Cheetos well thats my  bad food but since they are baked, AND Cheetos, they are a puffy food.  Puffy foods fill me up faster than if I was eating lets say Tostitos (which i used to LOVE).  If I eat pizza at all, I only eat the thinnest crust I can find.  Two slices of supreme with all those veggies and I am full.

My newest conquest is going to be Helman's Canola Mayo.  I am going to try it mixed with some of my tunafish.  Will let you know how it tastes.
