I had a lot of problems at around 6 weeks but I wasn't eating and drinking as well as I should have been.  I was continually tired and I think it was because I just couldn't get enough nutrition in for my body.  My problem ended up being a leak.  I doubt that's your problem, so good luck with the protein and fluids and hang in there.  It will get better.

At about that time for me I went on a vacation in Florida, and I was pretty tired still, but anesthesia just does a huge number on me it was my second surgery in that year (lap band in July, foot rebuilt in January or February).

The other thing that might be going on is that you could really be getting sick with something non WLS related, like the flu (but you'll know that pretty quickly).

I was feeling tired but for me it was a lack of exercise. I started taking my butt to the Y and it made a world of difference.

Hi,  I 'm usually just a lurker but I thought I should post a reply. I had VSG in April and like you didn't bounce back with energy.  As it turned out I had a couple of problems -  blood work  showed I was slightly anemic and a CT scan indicated I had a small leak.  In the middle of this I had a prolonged cough so I was going to my regular GP and being treated for pneumonia and had aches in my left shoulder which which my GP thought was ligament strain.   I didn't recognize the symptoms for the leak and wasn't talking with Dr. Walton like I should have.  I was miserable for over three months so learn from me to keep talking with your surgeon about all your symptoms.  Sometimes they are more interelated than you think.  On the bright side, I now feel so much better and I've lost just over 100 lbs.  It is still worth it --but I probably could have felt better sooner if I had realized how I was feeling was related to the WLS.

I Hope the extra B vits and protein is all you need.  It's no fun to feel so sluggish.

Hi, Amber.
Thanks for posting your sample menu. It looks good to me. Maybe your body is just a bit slower in bouncing back. I liked the post person's response about exercise and wonder how you're doing in that department. Also, has Dr. B. ordered your first blood labs yet? If not, maybe he'd let that happen a bit early, just to check all your levels. Hang in there. I know there's a reason, and it will come to light and be fixed. Until then, allow yourself to take naps as often as you can.
Blessings,
Mary

Amber, I am sorry that you are having problems. Hopefully what Dr.B told you to do yesterday will help. Hang in there and keep him informed if you don't start to feel better. Best of luck, Rita
