Watch the movie "Super Size Me."  It's a grim reminder of where we've been.

CARBS KILL!! I think carbs kill more than just the body! I was thinking the other day about how carbs kill the desire to get up and do stuff. Carbs dull the senses too. We are stronger than carbs...we are smarter than carbs...just remember NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS!!!!!

Most of you probably know I am not totally against carbs, and  I do include them in my diet in moderation.    But, I have been wanting them wayyyyyy more than usual the last few days.  I think the craving for carbs has something to do with the cold weather, at least for me.
The high temp today was 7 degrees,     with the windchill at minus 15, and I have been wanting anything carb related all day.

I call it "Carb Lusting."

Have you all forgotten about the snacks from Kay's Bariatric?  Whenever I get a lust for something carby or crunchy I order a box from her.  It may be pricey, but it really takes care of the crave with a high impact of protein.

And I have a drawer full of them too.  I thought of that AFTER my attack.  Thanks for the reminder.  Think I'm going to pull a bag out of the drawer so I'll remember they are there to eat.  I agree that they should  help!  Thanks!

I take the Fruit Test.  If I am just craving badly, I tell myself I can have an apple or an orange (or even a banana, but I don't usually have a banana).  If my first thought is "no, I don't want that" it's not the carb I want, it's the JUNK.  I count SF chocolate and stuff like that in the junk category too-it's just junk with a different body mechanism.

Once you've been off the white crack for awhile, it really doesn't agree with you as much any more.  I went to Marble Slab to have one scoop (I don't keep ice cream of any sort in my home) and a few bites and I was just DONE.  I really didn't even mind tossing it in the trash, I was kind of proud of my body for rejecting that junk. (But it might have been the whole milk it was protesting...who knows?)

I used to keep Dark Chocolate around all the time-it killed the cravings.  Now I keep SF Dark Chocolate around, and it wipes them out completely and there is less risk of it not working and sending me into a carb frenzy.

I'm not anti Carb, but I'm anti white sugar and corn syrup.  Once you get the awful crap out of your system, a carrot tastes wonderfully sweet.
