I know what you mean!!!! This week it has been terrible at work! I keep thinking about snacking!! Thankfully I don't bring any food with me other than my breakfast and lunch, and I have been pretty good about not going to the vending machines, no matter how much I crave stuff. I have a small bag of popcorn (had it months) and a Weighwise pudding in my drawer, but I am fighting it and I am not touching it! Though it's a noble though****er just does not cut it for me....sometime I make some decaf coffee and sometimes I have some sugar free hot cocoa that we have in the break rooms.  I found that sometimes all I need a distraction and the cravings go away..

Oooh!  Yum!  WeightWise pudding!  Can't imagine why that's still in your desk drawer!

Kim,

Rage against the carbs!  Try a cup of hot tea or maybe even a (small) handful of healthy nuts - smoked almonds help me sometimes.

If all else fails, spend some time thumbing through the before/after pics here at OH and elsewhere on the Web - those will strengthen your willpower.

If even that fails, and you are absolutely consumed for days and days, my thought is to have a small serving of something carb-y so it's not bugging and then move on with your life and loss.  We didn't have surgery so we could deprive ourselves of everything we want forever - we wanted to get to normal.  Normal people have those moments, too... they just don't allow them to turn into a swim through a bathtub full of fettucine....or a roll in a sand box full of crackers.  (sorry - those images may not help much)

I had some smokehouse almonds and the craving did pass.  There are some sesame sticks in the office and they have been whispering to me!  Ok, shouting at me!

I love that drink a glass of water thing - that has never worked for me.  Maybe some day!!!???

Thanks for the tips.  I particularly appreciate the visual with the bathtub full of fettucine.  At least that made me think of something else!  LOL!

Ummm, where do you get  smokehouse almonds?  Are they really smoked?  I LOVE smoked things....meats and cheese especially!

Only thing is that it's hard to roll it up in the paper and light it...Am I doing it wrong?

They are Blue Diamond brand and you can buy them anywhere.  It's the smokehouse flavor and they do taste kind of smoky.  I love them!

But I wouldn't recommend trying to roll and smoke them!  I tried that once and they kept falling out of the ends...???

My cure for wanting carbs. Walk into your kitchen, look into your cabinets grab a glass fill it full of water and drink it. Wait 30 minutes if you still have the urge then its not head but body hunger....Hugs to ya!
Btw when I was a pre op I cleared all carbs out of the house....no temptation there
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

I am with you, Sis!!  I want carbs- BAD!!!  I have been playing with the carbs recently.  I need to seriously get back on the wagon!  I was perfect yesterday- not so good today.

OK, challenge guys- who will work with me to help fend off the evil carb monster living in each of us??  Carbs should require a prescription from your doc to be able to buy them!  Crack I tell you, crack disquised as crackers and chocolate!

That's the honest truth. I think channel 4 is doing a 30 minute special on that - Carb Darkness.
