Possible Stricture
Brandy called me from WW this morning about some insurance paperwork I had left for them to do for me. Anyway we were talking about how I've done and I asked her a few questions about how I am feeling. Getting sick quite often, indigestion that is horrible....she told me she was going to call Dr. Walton, who is out of town, and talk to Jess, then she'd call me back, but she said it could be a stricture, which is common. I don't know, but I sure want something done, to be honest, I'm pretty miserable and sometimes think what have I done to myself. I didn't think I would feel like this when I had the RNY. I felt great right out of the hospital, through the two weeks of liquids, but the moment I started mushies it has gone downhill. Even water is giving me indigestion so bad that I can hardly stand it. I took a sip out of the bottle I keep by my bed, this morning about 4 a.m. and never got to go back to sleep because of the indigestion. Gas X strips do not help.
Has anyone else had a stricture? How painful is the procedure that they do? It doesn't sound fun at all!
Hugs,
Marsha

hiya Marsha,
honestly fixing the stricture is so simple and it doesn't hurt i swear your throat is sore for maybe a day if that. I had a scope and then he just ballooned it open I guess all in all dealing with the stricture was worse than Dr Walton opening it up. I hope that helps, things will get better promise.

I hope they can fix me in a hurry. I'm miserable right now. I had a small amount of deli shaved roast beef (maybe 1/4 cup) with some cheese and I have indigestion so bad I can hardly stay here and teach. I haven't heard from Brandy, but I'm thinking of calling her back now. I have to have some relief soon! Right now I wish I'd never heard of RNY....and that's sad, I've been so happy with it.
Hugs,
Marsha

marsha I had problems with getting stuff to go down. I had the scope and all that was found was some bleeding. Some times nerve pain hurts worse than anything. And then sometimes your scar tissue can be a aggrivating. I did this for awhile till I got brave enough for the scope..I would drink water at room temp My mr had to icy cold....And I stayed on soft foods longer than what the program said just to be safe
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

I've not had an RNY, but once my band closed off due to the flu and vomiting-which is pretty much the same thing-I couldn't even ge****er down. When that happens, you get dehydrated and the first thing to go is the mind (really). Once you get it resolved and some fluids in you, life will look a whole lot better, I promise.
