Hi I am also new to the group.  I have 13 pounds to lose before having the sleeve.  I am having a difficult time losing the 13 pounds.  What type of surgery are you having?  Dr. B. will be doing my surgery at WW.  If you have suggestions on losing your weight I would appreciate it.  My family is very supportive, but they think I am never going to lose the 13 pounds, but I am.  Good luck to you on your 12 pounds.  joejoe2

HIJACK!  JoeJoe - welcome to the group!  I promise you that you will lose those 13 pounds and will get a surgery date and will be fabulous, skinny, and, more importantly, healthy!!  You will show your family you can do it!

Debra, I think we may have a lot in common! I love doing rescue, it's the letting go after months of caring for them that I have a problem with. I had to take a break. It was that or add on to the house.  LOL    I kid about it but it's really hard emotionally, isn't it?
Amy, yes, those are cannas in my photo. It was taken last summer in New Hampshire. A group of gardening friends from all over the country meet every summer. We have a great time visiting gardens. Last year was in New York and New Hampshire, this year will be in Maine. I hope I get to go again.
Kim, I work on the computer servers at DHS here in OKC. It's interesting most days and a PIA most every day.  ;)
I'm not sure I will make the dinner. It sure sounds fun. I get a walking cast on 1/29, until then getting out and about is a huge ordeal. Currently DH is driving me around everywhere. That's more of an ordeal than the crutches.  LOL

Ok, that's probably a big challenge.  I don't think DHS has the most modern of equipment!  I work in pharmacy and we always have problems with Okla Medicaid pharmacy claims!

JoeJoe2, Hi and welcome!
I'm so happy you popped in. I feel bad about my 12 pounds. So many here have lost so much more, I'm amazed and humbled by them. It's amusing, I've yo-yo my whole life so I can't begin to count the number of times I've lost 12 and then gained 20. I know the reason I'm having so much trouble this time is psychological. That and pure boredom from being stuck in bed.
I do have a plan though. It's from my wonderful team at  WeightWise. It's basically a low carb diet - veggies and lean meats. We should do this together!
Any idea how to get DH to cook for me?    :(

Girl - you CAN lose those 12 pounds.  I had to lose 28 pounds ahead of time and never thought I could do it.  But I was extremely motivated to get a surgery date.  I even went to California the weekend before my surgery and did fine.  I ended up losing 34 before surgery.  Hang in there.  Some day soon, this will all be a memory and you'll be sitting sassy on the Loser's Bench with the rest of us!

Hello Jerri,

Welcome to the board and congrats on making your desicion for  a healthier you. One thing that helped me in my pre-op weight loss was cutting out all pops and sugared drinks. And adding even a little bit od exercise will help as well.

I'd welcome Jerri but I normally see her every day!  By now she knows she's welcome!  We are walking this journey together and she is one of my many support people at work.  Here's wishing you a quick 12 pounds and a speedy foot recovery!!  Come back soon!!

JoeJoe2?  I have family in Hinton.  My brother-in-law owns Hinton Hardware.  Do you know any of the Tripp family?
