When I saw the nut she gave me my diet pack. It covers the 30 day pre op diet, the liquid 5 day pre op diet and the post op diet. In it it says to take chewable calcium carbonate and carbonate is underlined.  I thought we were supposed to take Calcium Citrate because of the digestion factor. Any in put?

okay I read a little bit farther and it says to take calcium carbonate in the form of TUMS for the first 6 weeks after surgery and then switch to Calcium Citrate.
Anyone ever had to do this..........

Hi, Emily.
SURELY that's a misprint. You should take calcium citrate. Perhaps there's a difference, just for the pre-op diet? I don't know what that would be, though. I'd give her a call and question her about it.
Blessings,
Mary

Mary, it is not a misprint. I read a little bit further down and it says to take Calcium Carbonate in the fom of TUMS for the first 6 weeks after surgery and then switch to Calcium Citrate.

Yes, it's a good idea to ask for clarification!

I got some calcium citrate mixed with magnesium liquid stuff from Atkins Foods. It comes in a bottle and its a milky liquid.  I got the strawberry and pina colada flavors.  I take one huge tablespoon of it daily (when I remember)
