OT: Stupid Parent!
Yes, it includes both my son and I. Since he is over 18, he has to appear before the judge also if we want it to become permanent.
It would be enforced for the mother, the freshman son, and the older son, because they were all on my property. Individuals over the age of 13 in Oklahoma can be issued a restraining order...
There is some wording about on school property, but only for the freshman and my son. The mother and older boy (who isn't allowed on school property anyway) can't be there.
I'm pretty sure that won't be an issue cause either the coach is going to kick him off the team or the boys are going to make him so miserable, he will quit. Plus, I can't imagine him playing varsity, since he has NEVER played soccer.
I've had calls from several parents today with horror stories about this kid. Apparently, he held a younger kid down and slit his wrists over the summer! The older boy was just released from a juvenile detention for drugs.
Just makes the restraining order idea all the better!
I'm on pins and needles waiting for a call from the coach or my son! LOL

I know Shelia. I really think that is what has me so upset. I could understand much more easily if it was a carload of teenagers. We all know that teenagers don't always make the best decisions. But a MOTHER??? It still just blows me away and makes me sad for the kid because he doesn't have a chance.

I really appreciate all the support and concern that everyone has show in this situation.
Thought I would give an update.
The coach talked with the boy and his mother today and then talked to the seniors on the team. Basically, he said this kid was a punk and came from a disfunctional family but the coach felt that the kid was embarrassed and felt bad about his actions. He also said that he felt like these boys had a great opportunity to mentor and teach this boy what it meant to be on a team and work with others instead of creating trouble. So, he had the boy apologize to the entire team and then individually to each player that he offended.
I'm so proud of those boys. They looked him in the eye and told him that he had a second chance to make things right. Then one of the boys (about 6"1 and 250) said, but if you EVER go to Lori's house again, you will have to answer to all of us and it won't be pretty. The coach chimed in and said that they had addressed this behavior and if it did happen again, he would be off the team.
Freshmen don't play games on the same night as the varsity team, so she shouldn't even be at the games.
We will see. I hope it all works out. I'm still kinda processing so I'm not sure how I feel about it.
