Increase protein and weight loss?
What do you think? Do you think increasing protein will make me lose faster?

If I start the morning out with a matrix or something like that (protein shake) I know I have a better day overall because I can then maintain blood sugar levels with food, etc. the rest of the day. If I haven't eaten a lot of solid protein during the day, I'll have shake in the evening if I get peckish.
As to your question, it depends on how much you are getting now-if you are doing a lot of white carbs, increasing protein will make it easier to kick those bad boys to the curb.
I have to pay attention to protein intake, because left to my own devices, I don't get nearly enough, even when I'm not being naughty. I like tomatoes and squash and cucumbers, and I can't even eat enough beans to get in a decent amount, or eggs. So, lazy girl that I am, I drink my shake in the morning, then do the protein and veggies thing with small amounts of starch the rest of the day. Every now and then I'll track it for a few days to make sure I'm near the mark.
But, there is also a danger of too much protein-that can overburden your kidneys.
How much protein are you getting now? What are you shooting for? And how does that work out in terms of calories?

As long as you are losing weight, it probably doesn't matter as long as you are making healthy choices. If you hit a "stall" or a readjustment or whatever, it's helpful to know what you're doing so you can tweak if you need to.
I used to be a big tracker, now I just do it when I get "off track" and too many goodies start creeping in. Once I break the goodie habit, I just go back to making good choices, but I know from tracking that I just don't eat enough protein without a supplement. I know the supplements in some circles are a big issue, but my feeling is twofold-1. it works for me and 2. If I'm supplementing to add space for veggies, that can't be all bad.
