I talked a girlfriend this morning that had the bypass and she said she started noticing a dramatic change within weight and clothes fitting within 6 weeks.

So when did you really start to notice your change?

Sheila,

I know you lost just a little more than I did prior to surgery and we were pretty close on the  surgery dates.  I have already started noticing differences.  I have lost 45 lbs. and when I came in to school on Monday everyone went wow!  What'd you do?  Most of them knew I had the surgery, but I wore a pair of jeans on Monday that I hadn't had on in quite a few months.  I noticed this morning that I hadn't had the pants on that I'm wearing today since the day I came home from the hospital, and they are really loose on me now.  Everyone is different though, but I would say definitely within six weeks.

Hugs,
Marsha

34 lbs. lost before surgery on December 22, 2008.   105 lbs. lost prior to signing up for WLS.

Sheila you will start noticing it FAST.  You should go through your closet and kind of seperate your pants etc by size that is if you're like I was and can shop out of your closet for a while.  I had some that I had to skip because I didn't try them soon enough.  Hang on to your hat because the ride is a fast one!!!  Woooo Hooooo......

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Debbie,

I actually cleaned out all my jawers and closets right before surgery, and I had to get organized.  And I did donate items that I thought to myself, I would never wear even if I could get into it..LOL.. And through away a lot of 5 x clothes.. I am very excited and I keep waiting every day to get into some new things.  I did box up some jeans in my closet, so I want to pull them out and see if I am even close..

Thanks for the encouragement and support, I am ready for it.

Sheila

It'll be here before you know it.  Be sure and get those jeans out and put some masking tape or something around a hanger top and mark the size on it....no kidding!!!  I've cleaned out my closet many times...it's totally AWESOME!  I was wearing a 5 x and a tight 32/34 and now....drum roll please.....I CAN WEAR A 18!!!!!  It's just be 9 months!!!  I don't think I've been here in 30 years!!!!  I LOVE it.  If I never lost another pound I has been so worth it all!!!!  (Size 12/14 will be good too. LOL)

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

OMG!!!!  That's just AMAZING Debbie, I am so proud of you !!!! I too was wearing 5x / 32/34 when I started WW a few years ago, lost some gained most of it back.. I think I may be in 4x tight 26/28 when I started weight wise program.. Oh I can't wait, now you have me excited and looking forward to wearing some tight hot momma jeans..LOL..  I will pull them out this evening, after DH wakes up.. They are some brand new rockies (cowgirl jeans) that I didn't wear for long when I bought them..  I am so happy for you.. Thank you for chiming in and sharing your awesome experience with me.. I can't even imagine getting into a 18/20. It seems so long ago since I was there.

Woohooo!!! I am ready for the transformation..

Thanks,
Sheila

Hey Ms Sheila

I am at 7 weeks now and went shopping a bit this past weekend and found out that I can get into 26 real good and did buy one 24 that fit nice. This is from a snug 30/32. My top....I bought a 26/28 out of habit, but after I got it home, I really should have bought a 22/24...oh well...I will wear it and make it work...at least for a little while, then its back to store again

Sheila,
I am at 4 1/2 weeks right now and people are falling all over themselves when they see me for the first time.  It has really shocked me b/c I don't think I look any different! The thing that I have noticed is that I am not shaped the way I was before I started losing weight, so some of my older clothes don't fit right.
I have resorted to buying one pair of pants and a couple of shirts just to make do and those are very loose now.  So, my advice is to not spend a lot of time shopping or buying new clothes, cause they may not fit within a week!

I am 8 weeks out and I am so getting the wow looks from people that havent seen me. The ones I find funny is the ones that you can see fighting on if they should say something or not. Like I would NOT like them noticing my hard work, and we all know that no matter what anyone thinks theis is hard work and takes true commitment to do it right. I have clothes that used to be my kinda loose but comfy clothes I can literallly add a second person in a couple of them now. And the new undies I bought 3 months ago are literally going south when they shouldnt be.  My mom actually passed me some of her shirts she undergrew when ill, and they fit me snugly but they fit and they are a good 2-3 sizes smaller than I started out .

But I WILL BE HONEST WHILE i CAN SEE MY LOSS IN MY CLOTHES i PERSONALLY AM NOT SEEING IT WHEN I LOOK AT MYSELF THOUGH OTHERS OBVIOUSLY CAN.
