Did anybody watch the Biggest Loser last night?

I really like to watch this show.  I did think it was unfair that 9 of them had to leave without being given a chance to really show that they were dedicated.  I have to give all of these people credit for standing in front of America half naked being weighed, I don't think I could do it.  I just wanted to know if anybody else likes to watch this show.    Rosielocks

I'm a total addict.  At first I was really upset by them going home, but I see the wisdom in it-it will make them fight harder to stay from day one-because they will be doing it for someone else,  not just themselves.

I'm getting a little tired of the couples/teams format though.  What if you don't have a morbidly obese friend?  Still, I do like watching the dynamics and how they change over the course of the show.  The two former models are going to be great-one is driven, one is "helpless"....it will be interesting to see what happens.

Yes, I do enjoy watching this show.  I admire them all as well.  I couldn't stand up 1/2 naked in front of all America stepping on the scales!!!  I have last night's episode recorded and can't wait to get to watch it tonight.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Thanks for letting me know that you guys like it to.  It kinda bothers me though that from what they show that they exercise these people to death.  I know that these participants are under medical supervision and have been checked out, but it scares me to see someone who weighs so much and is so out of shape on a treadmill running, I am afraid of them having a heart attack, walking is different, but for them to be running it worries me.  Don't get me wrong, I really like the show but I don't think that they show the total package of losing weight.  I have hardly  every heard them talk about the nutritional aspect of it.  I heard this morning on the TV that 70% of losing weight is the diet, 30% is the exercise, after having WLS, I believe it to be true. I think if this show is to encourage people to lose weight it needs to be balanced, in dietary and exercise, but I am not the writer. I will continue to watch, because I like it and the people on it because they are just regular Americans just like all of us.    Rosielocks

I'm a Biggest Loser addict, too, and have been since the very first season!  I admire them all for weighing in front of all of America, 1/2 naked at that, and I follow them even after the show to see how they do in the "real world".  I know I would probably rather have Bob as my trainer than Jillian haha, but I know she'd whip my butt into gear good if I needed it.  I gotta say it's definitely my favorite show!  I think if they are going to continue this "couples" thing, next season they need 8 pairs of complete strangers or something that are all chosen from the internet (biggestloserclub).  That would interesting to see if they all could work together as well as Brittany and Bernie did a couple of seasons back.

I have been and on and off watcher but did see it last night.  It is very inspiring so I'm going to try to stay on it.  But I can't believe the man that had RNY and how huge he is now.  How in the heck did he gain back so much weight?  How can he eat enough to get so big?  He obviously made no lifestyle changes at all.  Wonder what makes him think he can do it now if he couldn't after surgery?  Hope it doesn't give wls a bad name!

I too am a fan of the show, and was dishearted when they sent 9 people home.. They haven't even learned the tools to get them going at home.. It surprised me, I hope the 30 days hurry up and passes and we can see who saved themselves and their partner.

And as far the the gentleman with the WLS, did he even lose the weight?  I didn't understand that whole situation there.  I didn't know if he lost it or he gained it all back plus more.. How surprising.  I have a girlfriend that had the bypass done at least 6-8 years ago and she has gained pretty much of it back.

It's a good show and it keeps me motivated.

I wondered about the wls guy too. Also wouldn't he have a hugely unfair advantage even at +5 years out? He's still got an egg sized pouch as evident from MRI and he dosn't absorb the fat or calories the same as the rest of the contestants. He lost like 35 lbs in week one alone...more than anyone else in the history of the show. Dosn't that just go to show you that WLS does work if you change your lifestyle? on the show he has to eat right and exersize, I'm intrested in seeing how he progresses on the show.
