Oprah's Best Life Week!
We have discussed the pros and cons of Oprah's attitude about WLS on here before...but did anyone watch her show on Monday?? She really humbled herself and pulled back the curtain on her weight gain issues. She said some good stuff. One thing I got that was helpful was a statement something like...If YOU are not on YOUR to do list the weight will not stay off. Balance in her daily life is the key. You can view some of the show on her website. Oprah.com...I am not a worshipper of Oprah...but if she inspires people to look at their emotions and health...she can't be all bad. ~Lisa~

I have to give Oprah props for that-she did a good job.
My mom was saying the "well, if I had THAT kind of money..." and I stopped her and say "You don't have that kind of money and you don't know what it's like. She has a lot of responsibility too AND an eating problem. So don't judge".
And that's the thing-we are all good in some areas of our lives and not in others. Oprah has problems in the same area that I do (weight) so I can relate. It also brought home to me that we can go to all sorts of highs and lows in our life, but we never break free of this body-so we need to take care of it.
This just shows us that she is real and human! She has overcome a lot to get to where she is today and is such a roll model for many. I know that in the past she has not been very receptive to WLS but that's her opinion. It just shows us that money is still not everything, doesn't buy happiness or health. The battle of obesity is alive and well!!! She has inspired me a lot in the past I do know that much.
