My DH is having trouble with his lapband and I need easy digestible dinner ideas besides taco meat and chili, you can only eat so much of those.

Apparently chicken is one of the harder ones to chew up, who knew?  Pasta and rice gums up too much also.

I have only had my band a few weeks, not even the first fill yet, so I don't know what would work for him.

He was able to eat scrambled eggs also, but has high chloesterol so that is a limit also.

He is at the end of his soup rope.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Eggbeaters?  Low fat cottage cheese?  What about string cheese or refried beans?  Also, canned chicken and tuna are easier going down I think.  Hopefully a bandster will chime in here soon!

I am not a lap bander, but have you tried seasoning a hamburger meat pattie and cooking it and eatting it without the bread. I love doing this, I like to use my little george forman, I add onions to  my patty and put seasonings on it, I even have a tiny bit of instant potatos with it.

I hope you find something good for him to try and that will work! Nothing like getting staled out on the same food all the time!

Pasta and rice send shiver down my bottle-LOL.

My favorite thing for a long time was half a sweet potato with some cottage cheese mushed and melted in it-ricotta would would too.  Cinnamon works nice on it, but so does salt.

Squash is amazingly easy on the guts too-any kind of squash will do.  I like sliced zuchini rolled in egg and panko crumbs and then baked till crispy....with ketchup.  (On those days I just drink a protein supplement cause cheese will only mess with the flavor of the squash).

Fat free refried beans with or without cheese....a staple in my diet.

Any dried bean cooked with a meat makes the meat easier to chew.  Sounds weird, but chicken and beans is actually pretty tasty.  I keep meaning to try fish.

Oh-fish goes down easy.  Buy one of those individual filets and toss it in a steamer bag with some diced onions, tomatoes, a little pepper if you are so inclined and some seas salt-----nuke for 4 minutes- it's good hot-chilled it's a hawaiian style fish that reminds me of hawaiian ceviche.  (The hawaiians use salmon, but I like it with tuna too)

Those tuna steaks in a bag are kind of dry for me (the ones that are already cooked) but I can pan sear a chunk of frozen, thawed tuna in a little olive oil, or I'll make a foil packet with a hunk of tuna (thawed) and a few veggies for a really good "hobo dinner"....cooking any meat that way works pretty well.

I was unable to eat leftovers for almost a year until I figured out I could put the meat in a foil packet with some water or other tasty liquid and heat it that way.....comes out moist enough to swallow.
