Bad Day

Hey guys!   I have had a horrible day as far as the way I feel.  I ate some soup this morning that had a chunk of chicken in it and I ate it....the moment I swallowed it, I knew something was wrong.  This is the first bite of solid food I have had since my surgery.  I have thrown up all day and will feel much better after I throw up, then 30 minutes later am hurting and then get hot and finally will throw up again.  I don't have anything left to throw up.  I was at my nephew's birthday party, then went and looked at cars, had to leave the car dealer's office while we were conducting business to throw up.  Oh yea, I bought a new car today too!  LOL  All around throwing up.

I'm home and  I put some of the phenegran gel on my wrist, but I'm worried about dehydration.  I'm taking small sips of water, and hopefully it will stay down, but I don't know if it will or not.

I am so glad this happened before I went back to work, I can't be sick all the time at work!

Hugs,
Marsha

Hi, Marsha.
Have you called Dr. Walton? I think he'd like to know. I assume you're on 2 weeks of clear liquids still, right? If water isn't going down and staying down too well, try some hot decaffeinated tea. Keep sipping, and please call Dr. Walton. I'm praying for you.
Blessings,
Mary

Marsha, if you can't keep water down, you will need to call the doctor and go in for IV rehydration.  If you can, then you can sip water until things settle down-or if you doctor allows it-G2.  I've found when tummy is upset, that even crystal light can make me nauseous unless I water it down, but that a little flavor helps.  I sometimes water down the G2 as well (even though it's already watered down gatorade).

Hi Mary and Debra!

I couldn't keep water or anything down, but once I got  home I  used some of the phenagran and that settled my stomach enough that I have drank about a bottle of water and two cups of Powerade Zero.  So far, I feel much better. The weird thing was I would throw up, feel so much better, then 30 minutes later I was miserable again.  I'm going to give it tonight to see if the nausea stays away, but if not, I will call Dr. Walton tomorrow.  When I got home I was miserable enough that I was ready to call him, but am so much better now, I don't want to bother him.  I am at least keeping some fluids down now, that was my main concern I was so worried about being dehydrated.  I have learned two lessons today....be careful what I eat, and put a tube of phenagran in my purse!

Thanks so much!

Mary, I promise if I get sick again tongiht, I will call Dr. Walton.  :)

Hugs,
Marsha

Marsha. I hope that you are feeling better. Make sure you stay to the liquids till that tummy resettles.

Thanks everyone.  I feel much better this morning and have kept all the liquids down that I have taken in since about 7 p.m. last night.  I can guarantee liquids is all I'm taking in for the next couple of days.  I was suppose to start on mushies tomorrow, but now I'm scared!

Hugs,
Marsha
