I have been bad

For the last week I have been eating things I shouldn't have. I haven't had a fill yet. I will get a fill on the 20th. So right now I am not having a problem getting most things down. I know I won't be able to do that after the fill. I have gained around 5 lbs back. Makes me feel SO guilty. I was going to try to go to the support group meeting but didn't like myself the last day or two. But I know that this is part of the learning process through my journey. Back on track tomorrow along with walking again.
I miss the soda so bad! Tired of Crystal light, juice and water. No tea or coffee. I was told I could only have decaffeinated non carbonated drinks. Any one else have this problem or any ideas?
I know we have have our "bad" moments but with the positive support here I will get back in the right frame of mind again.

I have a peppermint tea that is decaf that I love to sip on.  I also occasionally get these drinks at Walmart called Fuze low call sugarfree and a change.  Sometimes a simple lemon slice in the water changes the taste enough to satisfy the need for something new.  You can do this and we are here for you whenever you need a quick pick me up. I wish I could be more help but i am still so learning myself luckily I love water and I gave up my soda 3-4 months before surgery.

I know i probably should not, but I have a Sierra Mist ever so often, maybe once a week I would say.  I only drink about half a can though the put the rest in the fridge.  It's the only thing carbonated I can handle and even then I have to watch it.  It WILL give you really bad stomach pain and then the toots really bad if you try to drink too muc (or for some folks ANY) carbonation.  The Fuze Slenderize drink are awesome.  If you are looking for something different try going to Sonic and getting the diet Minute Maid Lemonade.  You can even have them add the diet cheery syrup.  have them squeeze a couple lime into it and you can trick yourself into thinking you are drinking a cheery limeade.  I order them all the time....no carbonation.  I drink the hell out of the Crystal Light and Wal-mart brand sugar free drinks though and i love them so thats not an issue with me.  I hope you find something that will cure your cravings though and please please dont start drinking pop again on a "regular" basis, you will regret it.

The thing is not to beat yourself up because that is what causes us to over eat well at least me , it is not umcommon for people to gain weight before their first fill , even with a fill it is up to you to make the right choices , for me i could probably eat anything i want in small quantities but i choose not to .  You are on the right track , just dust yourself off and start over tomorrow is a new day .......i drink lots of water , i have one skinny vanilla latte a week from starbucks and i stay away from fruit juices , as they are high in sugar , try some hot tea too, i was never a soda drinker , so i cant help you with that one ,,,,, take care , and just know you can do this , and ask for help if you need it ! You are worth it

Hugs!! The cravings will get better. I have to lay off the sugar free stuff becuase it makes me crave sugar even more. I do drink a ton of crystal light peach tea though. And I'll pour a glass of diet Dr. Pepper and let it get almost flat then drink it. I can handle some carbonation but it gives me gas. I have enough gas as it is without adding to it!

I'm sick right now so I've been drinking a lot of decaf herbal teas. Its a comfort thing. Good luck!

How long exactly is the no caffine thing?  I don't have a problem with soda, but I don't know how long I can live without caffine in my tea.

Jenn,

I would ask your personal NUT as each doctor has his own plan, mine prefers you dont do caffine at all as it can help dehydrate you, as well as being linked to ulcer formation and can you just imagine an ulcer in that new little tummy.  To feel the improvement I already have in just 8 weeks I will gladly give up many things forever.
