Post Op Full Liquid Diet
Hi All,
Hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year so far!! I am 3 days post op, am on full liquid diet. I have a question about the "schedule" I received as far as eating. Basically there is a plan that says eat 1/4 cup a food at 8:00, then start sipping fluids, then at 9:00 have 4 ounces protein supplement, continue to sip fluids until 11:00, at 11:30 eat another 1/4 cup of food.........you get the idea.
Well, here is where I am confused.....I am on full liquids.....everything that goes in my mouth is liquids!! Do I still follow this schedule?? Or is this for when I start eating mushy foods? It makes more sense. Please, someone who has the answer, let me know.
Thanks!!
Marie

Marie,
I also have that schedule. I think thats for when we start to eat. I have been just eating as I can. I start my day with s/f carnation instant breakfast and extra scoop of unflav protien. Then I have isopure and then later I have a brothy soup with protien added to it. I get liquids and protien.
I did try to eat today. I a soft scrambeld egg w/some mild taco sauce and a dab of light sour cream. I have been on liquids for over 4 weeks! It was time. I haven't had any energy and tried it and I have done ok so far. I ate it slow and so far I'm doing ok. I'm still careful but I feel pretty full right now. But I feel better then I have since surgery.
I hope this helps some! Oh, I also have some s/f jello that helps with liquids too.
