NEW WEIGHT!!!!! PROFILE UPDATE!!! BIG UGH!!!
Well ..... just when you think things are going along so smoothly something comes along and gives you a reality check. Mine came a few weeks ago in the form of a new scale that I purchased as an early family Christmas gift. Long story short, I (and everyone else who used the old scale) weighed considerably less on that old scale than we actually do. Ugh!
I actually was aware of this a few weeks ago but was still too much in a state of shock to accept it let alone put it into words and out here on the Board. Talk about being in Denial! But, it's all about honesty especially with ourselves, right? So, what is - is and I have to deal with it.
I have updated my Profile to reflect this "discovery" and if you care to you can read about it there. (It's down at the very bottom of the page, so you don't have to "wade" thru all the other stuff that's there. Feel free to leave any comments you would like to.) So, it's a whole new plan of attack for me but - I will survive!
The thing I can't figure out is why my bari surgeon thinks that I should have a tummy tuck done sometime in the next few months. I am no where close to what I think I should weigh. However, he did say that he thinks I am too hung up on numbers. I trust his judgment but geeezzzz...I am just not ready yet for the tt surgery. He does feel that I would lose a considerable amount of weight just by having all the lose skin and fat removed. But - that would have to be a lot (about 32lbs.) to put me where I think I will be comfortable and I just don't think there's enough flab there to do that.
Oh, and I have changed my signature that will (if I did it correctly) show at the bottom of any of my posts. But don't let those numbers mislead you - I'm still real cute!
Happy New Year!
Huggs,
Pammie
PS
Already did my walk for the day. It is 18 degrees here and the roads are pure ice, and this is a "mild" day! But, I strapped on the Yak Trax to keep me in an upright position and off I went. Truth to tell - I was freezing, couldn't even feel my legs by the time I got home. DH had to take a hair dryer and an ice pick to me to thaw me out! I don't know if I can take these Michigan winters much longer!
Pam,
It does sound like you are hung on numbers. To be blunt, the tt will have you lose fatty tissue you did not know you had. And if he thinks you need it then you probably do. I wanted my excess skin removed and I got the whole enchildea...sorry for the that. As I see he is a surgeon and knows more about the weight issue then I do. If you currently weigh 190 then he can and will probably take off around 20 to 30 pounds. A successful surgeon would rather have a patient that is near goal then at goal cause he needs that extra fat to contour your body to portion.
A good friend of mine had a complete body lift at goal and she looks great when she has on clothes without them she looks like she is aneroxic...
I am glad I had mine when I did...plus I am looking forward to getting my legs done.
Get a consult with a plastic surgeon and ask for a medical tt instead of cosmetic..you save money and I think better results
