Resolutions really can change your life

The last few years of my life I have been taking goal setting pretty seriously. Last year I did a in depth analysis on my life and decided the weight had held me back long enough.  (yeah, you are thinking...it took and "in depth analysis to figure that out"?)  I think maybe its a mid life kind of thing.  You start realizing that you have lived half your life and if want things to be different you have to do something different or you are just going to repeat the same old patterns for the next 20 years.

This is the first year that I don't have the desperate "I have to lose weight" at the top of my list.  Don't get me wrong, losing weight and being healthy is still a goal of mine and will always be.  However, its not that same desperate desire.   Now I know that with my new tool and a bit of dedication I can accomplish my weight loss.

Happy New Year friends and I hope that you will consider making some goals for 2009.  How about reading a book or taking a much needed vacation?  They don't always have to be serious discipline type issues.  Also, don't fall victim to having to have your list done and started on the 1st.  Bull.  I look at my resolutions all year long and frequently evaluate the list making changes and additions.  My 2008 resolution has changed my life!!!!  Bring on 2009!!

Amen the past 12-15 months have been full of changes too. October 1,2007 I quit smoking. I was already fighting with my old insurance. So I finally got it approved in 2008 and had surgery at the end.  I am now in the process of hunting a house to buy as well. May be wall be blessed with tons of new experiences and wow moments.

For the first time in my life my New Year's resolution is attainable.  I want to reach goal weight (hopefully by my birthday in June) and then figure out how to maintain my weight.  That last part is the scary part!

For anyone on the fence about WLS- go for it!  It is life changing in a very positive way!  My life is so much better since surgery 7 months ago.  It seems a life time ago that I used to eat huge plates of food and already be thinking about my next "fix".  My tiny servings feel so normal at this point.  I don't miss all that food and that icky over stuffed feeling.  Do your self a favor and take charge of your weight.  Make 2009 your year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S ALL!!

I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)

I made one new year resolution that I made years ago and it has been the only one I have ever kept..NOT TO MAKE ANY NEW YEAR resolutions...my reasoing is simple you make this resloution thinking of it will change your life..and then life kicks in and out goes the resolution. So I make this deal with myself on New Year's eve night while others are gathering and partying. I sit back and think of where I was the beginning of that year and where I am at then. And then I give thanks to God for allowing me to be where I am. No matter what kind of resolutions you make the key is simple make them that will actually have value to your life something that is needed not wanted.
I do have some things I want to change for this year... mainly take life at a slower pace....oh wait i do that anyway...
so as my friend says .....peace
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it
