My nut visit

My nut visit went pretty well today although I am a little disappointed. I have to follow a 1200 calorie diet that she gave me and I have to do it for 30 days before they will schedule my surgery. I don't have to lose a certain amount of weight I just have to show a loss so they know I tried and I have to do a food journal everyday and hand it in. I also have to record my vitamin and protein shake intake as well as exercise. I am excited to get it done, but a little down as well because I thought sure I would have a Jan date.

I know it's disappointing, but it is a good run through to see how compliant you can be before you HAVE to be.

It is definitely a good run through for sure. The nut has got me taking all the supplements and a protein shake a day. I found one I love too and that is the Nectar Fuzzy Navel. It doesn't smell very well but it tastes good. I am going to try the Carribbean Cooler that T is always raving about too. I am excited to get the last "hoop" over with. It has been a long time coming.

Hi Emily,

I know this seems like a disappointment for you but in the long run it will prove to be an excellent "training" for you.  The surgery is only a tool - not a magic bullet.  We all continue to work each day to keep ourselves from slipping back into the old habits that got us in trouble in the first place.  But, remember, you can do this!  And it will be sooooooooooo worth it.

All the best to you.  What a wonderful new year you have to look forward to.

Huggs,
Pammie

Thanks, Pammie. I know you are right. I just really wanted a January surgery date. It seems like I have been waiting forever and a day. I know I can do the diet. I have done really well for the last 3 days and have lost 4 pounds since 12/28. I am excited. I am just so ready to be a loser.

Emily,

I totally understand what you are saying.  Waiting for your Surgery is really tough but I know you can do it!  I think it is only human to get something in our minds, such as a January Surg date, and start to really plan for it.  Then, when that is changed we of course react with some disappointment.  Perfectly normal.

But, look at how much you have accomplished just since Dec. 28th.!  Wow!  Honey, you are already a "loser!"  :)     Just think where you will be at by the end of this month.  You will be so proud of yourself and should be!  And remember, each pound brings you closer to your ultimate goal of a healthier life.  Try and think about it that way.  January will fly by and before you know it it will be time for your surgery.

Keep us posted and remember we are always here to support one another!  Stay in touch.

Huggs,
Pammie

Emily~  I know it just seems like one hurdle after another, but as the previous posters had stated, we're all here to keep you occupied and you've done so great already... you're going to have that surgery date before you know it!  I know January is just going to fly by for you!  I'm glad you found some protein drinks you like...  I know that has always been a challenge of mine, even after almost 5 years.  I like the Muscle Milk Mocha Joe and Chocolate Turtle.  *hugs*
