Great Surgeons in OKC

I had my RNY in Dallas (i live in S ok) December 18th. I have a close friend in OKC who is considering WLS. She is employed with INTEGRIS and her insurance will only pay for Ok Surgeons (or she has to take out of network benefits!) Any suggestions of good Surgeons from my fellow WLS peeps from OKC?

Dr. Russell Gornichec is wonderful and affiliated with Integris.  I'm sure some local folks who used him will chime in.  He was not in my plan since I was self-pay.  Good luck to her.

Where are you in S. Oklahoma?  I'm in Durant, which is  considered SE Oklahoma, but we could be neighbors!  :)

I live in Ardmore....yes, so we are pretty close! I travel quite a bit with my job as a Recruiter and we have a large offive in Durant.

Have you found any support groups close to us?

HEY ALMOST NEIGHBOR!! I LIVE IN MCALESTER AND WE HAVE A LADY HERE WHO IS GETTING CERTIFIED IN SUPPORT GROUP. WE HAVE MEETING THE 2ND TUES OF THE MONTH AT THE MCALESTER WELLNESS CENTER AT 5:30PM. ALL ARE WELCOME!! I KNOW A LADY WHO'S BROTHER AND SISTER-N-LAW LIVE IN ATOKA AND THEY HAVE MEETINGS THERE SOMEWHERE. I CAN TRY TO FIND OUT THE PARTICULARS IF YOU NEED THEM.

I use Dr. Gornichec....had heard a lot of good things about him, not only here, but from others, too.  I am having my RNY by him tomorrow.  I really like him alot, and he is very thorugh, and his office staff are all friendly and helpful.

I think Dr Gornichec is the best and he is right there at Integris Baptist.

He has done 3 surgery's for me already, including a lapband, last week.  He is totally awesome.  I would recommend and do recommend him to everyone.

He also did my hubby's lapband.

She couldn't go wrong with him.  His staff is great also.
