Wt. Wise, Jan. 2nd, anyone?
I have my first post-op follow-up at Weight Wise this Friday, Jan. 2nd, around 10:40. Anyone else going to be there? I know I'll be meeting Candee and Stacy (very excited to put faces with names and personalities), but I'd love to see more of you from the OK forum.
I'm a bit nervous about seeing Dr. Walton, because I think he'll be disappointed in my 26-lb. weight loss. It's not much, for 5 weeks. :(
Blessings,
Mary

Mary huney dont beat yourself up like that. I want to tell you something Dr Kirk, Dr Gorospe's associate doctor, told me.
Everyone's machine is different. If we all were finely turned Ferraris doctors would be out of jobs. WLS is a tool to help us make our machine God gave us work better. I am handing you the tools, you take those tools and tune your machine. No one else can do it for you.
Your machine is not the same as mine, and mine is not the same as Rita's and Rita's is not the same as Thomas's. We all lose at different rates. I lost 100 pounds like rocket then I took an aditional 4 months to lose just 30. I am still losing inches though but still I could be beating myself up for not losing pounds but I am not. I know its going to come off eventually.
Keep your head up and your eye on the prize. You are doing just fine and I know Dr Walton will say the same thing. HUGS

Hi, Nancy.
Although I'm not 100% sure, I probably lost at least 26 lbs. over the course of 5 weeks, pre-op. I guess that's why I think this weight should be dropping off faster, post-op. God has reminded me that I promised to do what I know I should be doing and then leave the results and timing up to Him. :)
Blessings,
Mary

True, but you were on an aggressive diet pre-op and you are no longer on a diet. It is a life style change now, not a diet. So maybe I should rephrase that -- when was the last time you lost 26 lbs in 5 weeks without dieting? I did not think I had lost that much either at my first check up until Dr Walton put it into perspective for me.
Dr. Walton will NOT be dissappointed in you at all. You're doing your part and the tool is doing it's part. It will all come in time.....remember HappyCat and her stall that lasted for WEEKS?? She's now lost 106 pounds and her year isn't until sometime in May..... You will do the same at your own speed. Remember Mary, this isn't a race at all. It's our new lifestyle and it will come. Just let go and let GOD. I know you've given that advice in the past!!!!....right???
Hi, Deb.
I hope you're right, about Dr. Walton not being disappointed. I don't know why I always care what other people think, and it depends on who the person is, but I do care. Thank you for the reminder of HappyCat's experience. I pray that I will experience losing the weight I need to lose, which amounts to about 150 lbs. Maybe I'm thinking too much about the total amount, and it seems so daunting.
I do need to let go and let God. Yes, I'm sure I've given that advice in the past. I need to take my own advice! Thanks for reminding me to do just that. :)
Blessings,
Mary
