Prayers for my Daddy

Hi all, Hope everyone is ready for Christmas. I really need you guys to uplift my Dad and I. He decided to come live with me, however now he is in the hospital and not doing well. I could write a book because there is a very long story here, but don't have the time to go into it right now.I'm having a very difficult time due to the holiday season and don't have anyone to help me out with him, therefor everything I had planned for my kids, grandchildren and I for Christmas have gone to way side. Please pray that I can be strong enough to do the things I need to do , and to make the right decisions. As always, Thank you and have a Merry and Blessed Christmas. I am off to the hospital (50 miles away) to sit with him because he is agitated and combative at times. Hugs, Rita

I'm so sorry this is happening, Rita. What a difficult time for you. I am praying for strength for you and peace for your father. God knows how much we can bear, although I know what we think we can bear may seem as if it's a lot less than His viewpoint. Make sure you take care of your health needs during this time.

Rita, I am so sorry....I know two years ago Christmas was put on hold when Grandma broke her hip and had to have surgery....She became very combative and I had to be there 24/7 with her because the nurses lost patience with her and she was hurting herself instead of who she was fighting.  It is a hard time and your heart is torn in so many directions at the same time....The thing is WE put so many expectations on ourselves when those around us fully understand and want peace for us....Some things just have to wait until another year, or just another time and there is nothing anyone can do about it....

I know that with all the grieving that you are still going through over your mother, this has to be so hard on you.  I will pray for wisdom in your decisions and for the strength, both inner and outer strength to acomplish what has to be done. The thing is, it is so hard to make the decisions based on what is best for you at this time. I was always told to take care of myself or I could not take care of others....I was the type who made sacrafices for others at the cost of my own health. Caring for my grandmother for the years that I had her with me, took a tole on my health. Just be realistic in your decisions, that is the most important thing.

One more thing...Christmas is a season, not a day. It can wait until things calm down. I have found that to be true many years over the past and just as enjoyable!!
