I have some HUGE SELF CONTROL!!!!

I don't know if it's because my surgery is on Wednesday and plus I am not a huge sweet eater..  But for the last 3 days I have been baking like crazy..  10 tins of poor mans turtles, dozen santa cookies with icing and sprinkles and not one lick, nibble, taste, nothing at all.  I can't tell you how many times I have had frosting, chocalate, pecans on my fingers and I have not had a drop..  Gosh, I hope they are turning out good because I haven't tasted anything.  I am relying on DH and kids to tell me if they are good or not..LOL..

Thanks for letting me share,
Sheila

Ok, now that is extremely impressive!  There is no way I could do that!  Maybe that's why I don't bake?  Anyway, congratulations on your iron will!  It will help you after surgery immensely!

Oh Sheila!! I would love your recipe for the Turtles!! I have pecans and would love to try to make some......
I cant have them but I'd love to make them and give to my kids.
Oh and you are a wonderful strong, crazy woman!! I would have to lick my fingers!!
I cook all the time and don't eat it, but I do lick my fingers when needed!

Thanks you two...

My poor man's turtle recipe is:

13 oz Bag of Hershey Rolos

60 small pretzel twists

60 pecan halves

Place pretzels on foil lined cookie sheet.  Place 1 rolo on top of each pretzel.  Bake @ 325 for 4-5 minutes or until chocalate gets shiny.  Remove from oven and gently press 1 pecan half onto each treat.  Cool 10 minutes or place sheet into fridge or freezer to set.

I got this receipe from weigh****chers and they are 1 pt per pretzel..

Enjoy, this is the easiest thing I can do and quick too..  My kids enjoy unwrapping all the rolors and than they help me put 1 rolo on top of each pretzel.  Be careful when removing the tray from the oven because the rolos are hot..

Hope you have fun,
Sheila

My cookie total for the season so far-(other than the death cookie)....one corner off an iced sugar cookie at a sample give away-it just didn't hit the spot or I would have actually bought a small pack-I think my flu was coming on.  One german chocolate cake/cookie thing my Mom makes.  I picked a small one and made myself eat the entire thing (deliberate decision-I never eat all of anything and it did please Mom).  But forcing down the cookie has made any further cookies doubtful (so it was probably a good thing).

One of the things I need to work on socially is practicing the southern art of gushing and carrying on over a bit of food.  I can't do the quantity any more, but I could make more of an effort to admire the food, etc.  It cracks me up that carrying on over the ham/turkey is not as satisfying to most cooks as carrying on over the baked goods.  I'm sure there is some deep psychological/freudian thing going on with that.

What a brave woman. I know that I wouldn't have been able to do that!

Congrats on that SELF CONTROL!

Oh I love that recipe, I had forgot about it.

Great job, I can't imagine 3 days of baking.  I survived 1 afternoon of 3 types of cookies and sausage balls.  The sausage balls about got me and I refused to bring any of the leftovers home, much to my kids disappointment.  The cookies were one of those fund raisers containers so I don't know if they were good or not but they ate them.

Great job.  Keep up the good work.
