Friendly reminder to my lovely peeps
I've been poking around on other forums on OH lately and I just felt the need to post a little reminder that OH is not really supposed to be our mainstay of medical advice. If any of us ( me included) tend toward advising on medical/nutritional/surgical issues...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember most of us are not professionals. We are just folks with ideas. Get your medical advice from medical professionals. Call your Doc and ask THEM!! Your dietician knows what you should be eating better than anyone here. Be careful with your choices, my friends. Health is a precious personal responsibility. Stay safe!!

Thank you, Thank you, thank you! You are so right! They study this stuff. We all know how to diet and how not to diet. It doesn't hurt to get an idea here and there about types of protein or vitamins that may have a better taste, but it is vital that our doctors know what we are taking or doing and are ok with it. We are individuals and are unique in our weight loss. I did find that just by adding one extra glass of my protein drink to the Nuts diet, I began losing more consistantly....That may not happen for someone else....Thank you for reminding us all how important the Doctor and the nutritionist is in this journey. You know even each WL Doctor is different, but each are skilled in their methods and we can't compare doctors and methods either. That is why we have choices in doctors!
Lisa this was a great post!

Thanks, Sherry!!!!
Some of us are pre-ops and some barely post-ops. Some are years out from WLS. And then there are age and gender differences. Not to mention individual health histories and allergies and the list goes on and on. I would hate to see anyone mess up their health or chance for weight loss success by just taking a risk on a suggestion from a friend online no matter how well-intentioned that friend may be.
Sherry, you rock!!! Congrats on your hard work and your overcoming spirit! You are moving closer to your target all the time!!!
