I told my mother-in-law about my surgery. Question?

Ok.....Santa can be there to wait for Mr. P to come into Edmond....I mean, I have no life and would love to do this if you need me.  My Christmas with my kids isn't until Sunday so just happen to be free the whole day! Tell me all the times and I will be there for you! Besides I will get to see how this all goes down!

Ok what time...I  know where! lol If you come down early, I could pick you up at the hotel and deliver you to WW, then stay as long as you need me....

Everyone  is so nice, and I greatly appreciate it all...  I haven't decided what to do yet..LOL..  DH doesn't want me to drive home AT ALL..  I believe I can drive home and I would hate to inconvience anyone at all..  I don't know what time my surgery is yet..  The problem is, we can not count on what time Mr Pappe will arrive because we don't know his schedule from one day to the next.  Truck could break down, traffic, stores behind, any number of things could delay him from arriving..  I hate not knowing, relying on others to help me through this..LOL..  I was hoping if I slept on this, I would wake up this morning with everything resolved..LOL. Didn't happen did it..LOL..

I really like the thought and idea of those of you who live in or around Edmond coming to hold my hand..LOL.. Than I wouldn't feel like I am putting anyone out, because you live in town, you can go home and get back to your errands once Mr P arrives..  Which hopefully and honestly shouldn't be to much longer after I get there..

I am going to Church this morning so hopefully the calmness of things will come to me..

Sheila, I am really serious, I have no plans for the entire day and would love to come. If you can get to OKC on Tuesday night then I can pick you up at the hotel or whatever and take you over to WW, then be there for how ever long it takes for the PMan to get into town!  I would not have to be rushed to get home for any reason.  I would love to do this!! Think about it...Maybe your hubby could drive you down on Tuesday, or a friend and then I could be there for Wed AM to get you....I am a prompt person so I would for sure get you there on time!

Sheila-I am going to be tough with you here (because someone was with me once about the same thing).  Trying to drive yourself so soon after surgery may inconvenience a lot more people if you have a wreck-the roadways are public and it's not just you out there.  That's what someone told me, and it kept me from driving myself home from a surgery, and I hope it keeps you from the same thing.  

Being self sufficient and capable is a wonderful thing, but there are times when you can take it too far.  Let people help you-you might find, as I did, that sometimes it feels kind of nice.  (hugs) 

 

Edited to add:  My tough love person actually compared post surgery driving to drunk driving, and I do get their point, but I thought that was a bit harsh-although it did work, so maybe it wasn't. 

Update! Update! Update!!

Isn't it funny how things work out???  I have a neighbor directly next to me that is 83 years old, widow, son passed away 4 Christmas's ago, all by herself. She treats my children as her grandchildren.  Anyway, she is going to Norman Tuesday afternoon.  She called me because she wanted to know how I was getting to Edmond for my surgery?  I told her I was in the process of figuring that out..LOL.. She wants me to drive her to Edmond and will drop me off at a hotel on Tuesday afternoon than she will go onto Norman for Christmas.  She is fine driving back home but she was thinking she could help me out and I could help her out too..LOL..

Now as far as Mr P is concerned, he will get there sometime Wednesday afternoon. 

I have stayed at Motel 6 OkC/ Frontier before, is that going to be my least expensive option?  And the easiest for anyone/someone/ Sherri/Ruth Deb to hold my hand /  to come get me at?  I really don't want to be a bother to anyone at all.  It is so hard for me to ask for additional help.  I feel like I should always be this Super Mom that can handle any and all things..LOL..

Anyway, there is my update.. Thanks to all who have chimed in, it's always greatly appreciated..

Sounds GREAT to me!!!!  yes, sipping water..Woohooo!!!! We are partying now...  I will probably be in Edmond early afternoon...  Any movie, just to keep me occupied sounds GREAT..

Hi Stephanie.. You were not loud at all... Me and my daughter can be way louder than anyone..LOL..  Thanks for the offer coming to Claremore to pick me up but I have the ride thing covered, if sleet doesn't happen.   I may end up drivng myself.. But as it stands Deb was wanting to go to the movie, so we may be seeing a movie on Tuesday night so your more than welcome to join us..  I need to get this all figured out today as if sleet doesn't happen I will be leaving early afternoon Tuesday..  Give me your cell and I will call you with plans..  Mine is 918 698 3810 or PM me.
