Every time I drink I get a sharp pain in my shoulder and this gas in my tummy is rumbling HARD!  Can I take Gas-x or something?  I can call my dr.  I just thought you all might know????

Very normal and it will pass with time.  Use some Gas-X strips and try to get up and move around some after drinking, it will help.

This is a great question because when I had my last surgery they told me that GasX wouldn't work because they air up the body cavity and that GasX only works on the inside of the stomach or Intestins not in the body cavity. They said only walking and heat could help with that....this will be interesting....
Anxiously waiting on answers,

Sherry,
Gas X strips do work . But I wondering  what kind of heat , I had an open RNY and I didn't know if I could use a heating pad, because of the incision.
thanks,
Brenda

I am so glad to know this and will stock up on them for after my surgery....It seems to be a big issue after the procedure. I would think a heating pad on your back would help...Maybe it's mental, I don't know but I love to wrap up in my electric blanket after having stuff done....After my 3 stents, I was wrapped up for days!

So I suffered for days after each one because of one nurse!! Darnit! It kinda made sense at the time....being high on drugs from the procedure...She said it just wouldn't work on body cavity gas from that....Just if it was in my gastro organs.....I'm going with the flow here and will buy it!!
Thanks guys.

The Gas x strips are a MUST.  I'm not talking about what they pump into you.  The only thing that will get rid of that is TIME and Walking!  I'm talking the kind that when you drink something your stomach starts this THUNDERSTORM and it hurts like the DEVIL!
But my handy dandy gas x  send it straght to H...Home!  LOL!
