Kim J's Update
She honestly sounds a little down. Her hubby has been so much help to her. He is so supportive! I need her to clone one like him for me....Now that is what a real man is!!!
She said she is having to question alot of things the nurses do or tell her to do because they are not specificly bariactric nurses.(That is why I look forward to Weight Wise) They gave her a huge bactrium to take....It seems her doc wanted to know if she could handle pills yet or not.....I guess I was under the assumption that it was liquid meds for RNY and maybe even forever. Each Doc is different!
Please keep her in your prayers. Right now is a difficult time....pain makes things look different than they will later I am sure!
She misses the boards and her family on here. I told her you all had asked about her and were praying for her and that we love and miss her too....She hopes to come home maybe tomorrow, but that is still a maybe.

Infection is one of the scariest parts of any surgery (for me) and one that can't be eliminated no matter how diligent the doctors and facility is. I've been lucky, but it always seems that it's just a dodging a bullet kind of thing. I hope she feels better soon.
It is pretty common to have the day after remorse because even with no hurdles, you feel like you've just had major surgery.
As for the liquid meds, I never had any-so yes, each doc is different. It's a good idea as a WLS patient to ask if there are any contraindications for your particular weight loss surgery to any doctor from now on (especially MD's and specialists not connected with the surgery), because honestly, they are human too and might not be thinking about your stoma or any malabsorption issues. My regular MD checks everything because I'm his only lap band patient and I think he's really just curious, but if he didn't, I would ask him to. I try not to be militant about it, just matter of fact and before I go see a new doctor now, I ask their feelings on WLS because I don't want to bother with someone who is anti-WLS.
I'm so very sorry to hear that Kim J. is dealing with an infection. After a few days in the hospital, you just want to go home! Bless her heart. And to top it all off, she has to wonder if she's being cared for properly. It makes me all the more thankful that I found Wt. Wise and Dr. Walton. I do know that infection can happen anywhere, for sure.
I just feel like we should pray for Kim J., right now. I'm asking that anyone who believes in the power of prayer, *****ads this post, would you join me in prayer?
"Heavenly Father, we who are Your children, come to you in prayer for our dear sister, Kim. Father, You know that Kim has had surgery and is dealing with an infection. She's sad, Lord, because she wants so much to feel better, and she wants to go home so she can be with her family, especially with Christmas just a few days away. Lord, this is the Season of Miracles, and we ask for a miracle of healing for Kim. Your Word says that if 2 agree as touching anything on earth, in prayer, it will be done, so, Lord, we pray in agreement, asking that the infection in Kim's incision site be healed, in the Name of Jesus, the Great Physician, and that the healing be swift--so swift that Kim's doctor is amazed. Father, we pray that Kim will have sweet, deep, healing sleep tonight, and that she will wake up in the morning healed and ready to go home! We thank You, Lord, that Your Word is true, and we thank You that Kim IS healed! We look forward to coming to You again, soon, to thank You for what You have done in Kim's body. We pray all of this in the Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Savior. Amen."
Okay, friends. If you prayed this prayer with me, please post a reply, so Kim will know how much she's loved and how many prayed for her.
Blessings,
Mary

Yes, Mary...I come into agreement with you for Kims speedy healing of this infection and a speedy recovery from the surgery. I also pray for the peace of God to envelop her and her family during this time and knowing that Gods word says that he will keep her in perfect peace cuz she has her focus on him.

Would everyone here pray for me as I enter my pre-op diet tomorrow in preparation for my RNY by Dr. Gornichec on New Years' Eve? I would appreciate it!
Merry Christmas!!
Marie
Congratulations on getting to this stage of the journey. You're going to do great. Just think of all the weight you're going to lose, how your liver will shrink, and you'll be in the best shape for your surgery.
I'm praying for you. I know the pre-op diet time can be difficult, especially this time of year, but you can do it. I'm praying for great strength and fortitude for you.
Blessings,
Mary

I am in agreement with this prayer also....God is the devine healer. We ask him to heal her body quickly as she has small children who need their Mother right now. God has given her a wonderful husband who has been a blessing to her during this time and we are grateful for this. I am so thankful that we can pray in numbers for Kim and her family right now.
Like Debbie said. It is a real blessing that this happend now, and not after she got home and not during Christmas.
