A bit worried and stressed (long sorry)
I read so many forum posts about the nightmares of insurance, etc., requirements for surgery. I feel the stress of your post (and theirs). As hard as it was/is to be self-pay, I was/am thankful not to have to deal with those issues.
I'm praying for you and for your situation. I feel that this will all work out for you. God loves you and has a plan. Try to rest in that knowledge. Do what you can, but try to leave the rest up to Him.
Blessings,
Mary

We are not meant to journey through life's quandaries alone, that's for sure. I believe God led you to this board, as I feel He led me here, as well. After all, I'm not from OK, but, since I was connected to the Wt. Wise program, I was hopeful that I would be allowed to "stay" here. I have been embraced and supported. It's a beautiful thing.
I continue to pray for your cir****tance and will be watching for your post that all has worked out.
Blessings,
Mary

I am so sorry sweetie for what is going on...Can you talk to your Dr.s nurse or the Dr. himself? If there is any way to by pass the receptionist, then do it! Let her know you are on a deadline and want to talk to the Office Manager or the Doctor himself...There is no reason to stall your progress on her whim!
Man do I know about road blocks! I also know that I felt like being given a gift to save my life only to be hit with so many walls! I know too what it is like to have to cough up more and more money just because of delays.
I am so so sorry for your frustration! Ok there are many of us now who know what you are going through and will begin praying for favor for you. We will pray that this will all get done. In the meantime, put a call into the Dr or nurse and take that avenue! Shoot pretend you are sick and need to talk to them! You are sick! You are heart sick about it all!
Please come to us with any of your issues in this road to the new you!! We will offer up what we can, but know we will always pray for you!

Thank you so much! You are one wonderful lady! :) I am going to make an appointment with my GYN on Monday and see if he will do it for me. Even though, I haven't been seeing him for very long. He knows a lot in a short time about my medical history. He even has it documented I am sure that I tried W Watchers this year. So, keep your fingers crossed they will see me and he will agree to do it.
Thank you again :)
Paulette
Paulette, I had the same exact thing happen to me , and i was so frustrated , finally , Kim took care of it , i believe she went tomy PCP offi ce and got the letter herself lol of course he is also an INTEGRIS doc in another bldg. , so if you havent already , call Kim and see if she can help , she is very good at what she does:) Hang in there , as soon as they got that letter i got my date that same day.
Luanne
Hi Luanne,
Yes, Kim is definitely great at what she does! She is actually the one *****commended that I type up the letter myself and take it to my primary care physician. I just wish I could change doctor's. After all this and them dragging their feet like this, I am looking into changing. Funny thing is, is even before I ever went to a seminar, I told my primary care physician that was seriously considering the surgery and wanted to know what she thought. She said she supported me and would submit anything or do anything that the surgeon wanted and/or needed, and now she is doing this.
Thank you for responding. :)

As an aside, why are our gyn's finding out we're hypothyroid instead of our PCP? My pcp told me for YEARS it was a) a female thing, b) I was stressed, that's why my hair was falling out, c) menopausal (at 30). My gyn took one look at my dry skin, shedding hair and menstrual history and made a bet with me right then. Sure enough, I was hypothyroid.
Good luck to you and don't back down!
