I'm sick
try some warm tea - slow sips - if you have any papaya enzyme - that helps break it up too. sometimes you just have to work through it girl. i know that isn't what you want to hear though!
peppermint tea always helps me...and laying down - but then others have to get up and walk - its a weird feeling and everyone has to work through it their own way.
hang in there!!! and you may need to back off the more solid mushies for a day - stick with refried beans or scrambled egg. soft mushies...
if things don't let up call the doc though!!

away from meat for a few more weeks
I so know the feeling Amber. I hesitated posting this to you, but had my 3 month appt. and I was still getting sick most of the time. Would get the foamies almost every meal. Dr. Walton talked about ballooning out my stoma because of a remote possibility of a stricture, but he didn't really want to do that. I didn't either. Talked to Jess, my nut, and had me go back to mushies -- scrambled eggs with cheese, cottage cheese, etc. for a little while. I really think though, I am not realizing that I am eating still too fast (even though I think I'm at a snail's pace), and taking too big of a bite (even though they are mini's compared to pre-surgery). I am slowing down a bunch. A lot of times, I take a few bites, with time in between, but start getting sick. I am now stopping completely until the little one is calmed down. Then I can preceed. Sometimes I have to stop for up to 5 minutes, but then it is so much better. I am tired of eating cold food, but has been worth it. But, the wonderful thing, is that I'm not poised over the toilet, throwing up. So, make sure you are eating super super slow and small bites. Put your fork down between bites, etc. I will get easier. If something is or has given you trouble, don't eat it for a while, then come back to it. Good luck, and take like a 1/2 hour or more to eat. Pay very close attention to your new stomach, and take appropriate action. Michael
