Exercise

Good morning! I'm 2 weeks out, and I have to say that I have only exercised 3 times. Walked one mile the first 2 times, and 2 miles the last time, and my legs and butt were sooo sore. I'm just curious if everyone exercises regularly. I have a whole work out room full of equipment, but I find every excuse not to go upstairs and exercise. Guess, I'll try to do a work out video. I'm getting a wii fit for Christmas from my kids, has anyone used it? Thanks for replying. And let me know what your exercise routine is.

I found it easier to exercise as the weight came off.  I ride a bicycle on a trainer in the house when it's crummy or cold outside.  I excercise fairly regularly, usually for half an hour at a time.  My daughter uses the WiiFit almost every day and enjoys it a lot more than regular exercise.  I've played with it, and depending on which exercises you choose, there's some value there.  Don't overdo it!

Being consistent with exercise is my achilles heel, and I seem to be getting worse not better.

I have a wii fit, but I've been busy just learning the basic bowling, tennis, etc. games, and I will tell you it's far far better than nothing, which is what I was doing.  I'm at the stage where diet alone will not get me to where I want to be-so I really need to get moving.  And it IS about good health, not looks....OK, I sound like I am trying to convince myself and I am.  But I'm not giving up.

Amber,
I was not able to do any kind of exercise except walking for months cause of my back to back surgeries. I then started doing the resistant bands and it helped alot but then I was told to stop them cause of my hernia. I then started riding a bike and was told to stop that because of the hernia. And now I am back to walking waiting to be told when I can start doing exercises the require more than shoes..
being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

Go easy on yourself for a few more weeks.  You DID just have major surgery even if it was done through tiny holes!  I would continue walking for at least another 2 weeks before you add resistance training.
I have maintained for one year at this point.  I am steady at -120 pounds.  =)
