Kim J is on the bench!!
I just talked to Randy and he said she was back in her room and that all went well. He said she was out of it right now as normal. I will check back with him later. Yahoooooooooooooooo
She is on this wonderful bench that is endless! He said her mother and son were going back home in a bit....Let's just pray for their safe trip back home and Kim's safety when she get's out and heads back up that way.
More later.....

I love the German names, even if they are spelled goofy or even sound goofy! lol Grayce is actually spelled GrayC. I added an E because It looks dumb the other way. LOL Barick is the name of her way younger brother. There is a list somewhere on here of German names. I looked at it once...
I haven't heard anymore on Kim. I think Randy said she was staying 48 hours too, but his phone was cutting in and out. so I missed that one but I am pretty sure that is what he said.

WELCOME TO THE BENCH KIM J!!!!!
MommaHen: Kim is at Integris Baptist - Gornichek did her surgery - not sure what his protocols are in reference to staying afterwards but I can help you with the WW stuff - Normally a sleeve or band patient will be in 23 hours after surgery unless there are some complications. RNY patients usually about 48-50 hours after surgery unless there are complications.
From what I have seen - this is a pretty standard protocol but as all practices and surgeons are different - so are their rules and how they set up with the insurance company, hospitals, etc.
I had a RNY 29 months ago at WW and that specific timeline has not changed - mostly based upon the rerouting and the pain management - BUT I have also seen some RNY patients leave with 24-36 hours if they were managing pain well and were able to get their liquids in.
Anyway - I think the basis of the after surgery care is patient specific - there are some set things the patient must accomplish before they are sent home - urination, liquid intake, pain management, etc. but if those are completed ahead of schedule - and the patient is requesting - the surgeon could discharge earlier than plan.
ME? I am glad I stayed almost 3 whole days! I was not ready to go home and leave my little cocoon of pain meds!! I was the only one in the hospital at the time and got so much attention I would still be there!! (roflmao)
