I just checked the weather forcast for Saturday.  FRIGID!!! with a 20% chance of freezing precipitation.  I think that makes us a no go on this coming Saturday.  Sorry folks!  Given how cold we already get this makes to sense to do on this date.

Hey Denise,

How cold is it there?

We have about a foot of snow setting on the ground and more is on the way.  The temps today are in the 30's = "a heat wave!"

Will have to post some pics of these COLD SNOWY Michigan winters.  GR is only about 30 miles from the Lake Michigan shore so we get tons of lake effect snow every winter.  Since losing so much weight I just can barely tolerate being out of doors any more.  And that is tough because I am definately an outdoor type of person.

All the best!
Huggs,
Pam

PS
I met with my surgeon last week and he thinks it is time that I had my panni done.  So, I will in January begin making arrangements to get that done asap.  I have been having severe lower back aches daily and they are to the point of becoming quite debilitating.  Ugh!  They have done all the labs, etc. to check for other problems but I am healthy so it is probably the ginormous amount of loose skin hanging off my lower abs.  That puppy literally just dangles away in the breeze.  LOL

Also,  DH is doing awesome.  We are blessed.

Hi, Pam.
Consider contacting martitalinda (that's her profile name) here on OH.com. She just had that plastic surgery, and she's so kind and helpful, she'd be more than willing to answer any questions you may have. Also, Pattye, on the OK forum, had it done recently, too. Haven't seen many posts by her lately, so I hope she's doing all right. She may have gone to visit family, for Christmas.
Anyway, I'm very happy to hear that your husband is doing so well. I keep him on my prayer list.
Blessings,
Mary

Well, I'll be thinking of you while I'm out in the freezing pasture....LOL.  Cold burns more calories....but if there is ice on the ground, no way.  I don't have a dog big enough (yet) to pull a sled....so I guess I'll be riding my trash can lid down the driveway again....(that's classier than a cardboard box, right?)

Pam,

I had a pannilectomy two years ago.  The BEST thing I ever did.  I had lost a lot of weight and it was bad before the weight loss, then afterwards it was even worse.  I've gained about half the weight back that I'd lost, but at least I don't have that horrible thing hanging down.  I can't tell you what it did for my self-esteem either.  It made me feel so much better about myself.  My insurance paid for it too.  I had submitted it two times before as abdominoplasty and it wasn't approved. The last doctor I went to submitted it as pannilectomy and it was approved almost over night.  I came through it fine, no problems at all.  The drains were the worst part for me, and they were painful, but other than that, nothing bad.  I'd do it over in a heartbeat, just because it made me feel better about myself.

Hugs,
Marsha

Marsha,

I'm glad that the insurance paid for your pannilectomy.  May I ask you what company you had that paid for it at the time?  I'm going to be working on that about this time next year I hope.  How much down time did you have?  Thanks!

I have to chime in here...I have had 2 abdominoplasties with muscle repair, removal of flappy thingies, and lipo.  My insurance covered the first one, thru UnitedHealthcare, and my surgeon (who thought he could do better than the end result of the first one) covered the second one.  I have a freakish pain tolerance, and was out at my daughter's school picnic 3 days after my first one, hunched over, binder, drains, and all.  The pain, IMO, was worse with my RNY than it was from the tummy tucks.  I was driving within a week, and only took pain meds so that I could knock my keester out and not try to flip over during the night onto my belly, not for pain issues.  Granted, I could not lift anything over 5-10 lbs for a few weeks, but trust me, having to have someone else do the laundry and chores really hurt my feelings...NOT!

Thanks for the information Janice.  It seems that I can't get this kind of information from many.  I think I'm more concerned with the stories of a possible 12 weeks off from work to recover (360 lift anyway) than the procedure since I have a high pain tolerance too.  I'm hoping I can get insurance to pay but I have a savings going for this just in case.  I don't think I can live with the pannis!!

You are having issues getting folks to give ya the gory details, eh?  Well, if you have ANY questions, please feel free to ask.  I have no issues in sharing about my surgeries.
